151: I think some of those movies are funny (I am endlessly entertained by Kevin Smith films, though they don't directly revolve around everybody smoking pot), I can't speak for Pineapple Express though, I haven't seen it yet. But I am with you on pretty much everything else (I'm extremely liberal, but this is one point where I'm conservative). I have very little respect for people who smoke pot, and I know that the potheads I know are all fucking idiots.

What're you into, OP? It gets worse for me because sometimes I end up craving fic for really rare fandoms, for a really unlikely pairing, that also happens to be femslash. And then I feel very alone.

151 - Yep, this is pretty much how I feel about Pineapple Express. There really isn't anything funny about using illegal substances which you may become addicted to/cause you mental problems. Not saying that the movie isn't funny, I'm sure it is, but in reality, that sort of lifestyle sucks for the majority of people.

He's not disgruntled, he's sociopathic, and he's not killing criminals to make a difference in the world, he's doing it because he's been taught by his father that they're the only human beings that are allowed to be killed. Sure it does, since there's usually a reason for what gets you off, and so there's no way that there's something about your attitude that isn't informing your fantasy. That kind of thing is worth thinking about. If she's concerned because her fantasy doesn't align with her values, well... I don't think "stop thinking/worrying about it" is very good advice. Find out why you feel that way, and what you want to do with that information. It's better than wondering.
