107. As much as I hate sounding all elite, I have to say this:
UGH, I know EXACTLY what you mean! For years, I was obsessed with a very obscure fandom, I tried to get my friends into it (sorta succeeded with that), tried to look for other fans online...(found a few cool people...) but yeah, I was a bit dissapointed how small the fandom was. Then recently, I found some more people who, well....did things to the fandom I didn't even think possible, made Mary-Sues who could turn any character to cutesy-cuddly mode, wrote the characters COMPLETELY out of character...agh...and the fandom is still small enough that a few bad pieces of fanart/fanfic make up a noticeable fraction..

Snap. Those two are my absolute favourites too. (I may have made high pitched squaking noises when We're a Storm in Somebody Else's Teacup was updated yesterday) But to be honest, I think Drastically Redefining Protocol is everyone's favourite at the moment. I know I've read it four times and my friend reads it at lease once a day. It's so fantastic!

162. Yes. Because no one should pursue their interests and aspirations if they in any way involve going to Japan. I want to go to Japan to teach English for a while, and to learn more Japanese so I can do further studies in Japanese history at the graduate/phD level, so that I can teach. Also to *gasp* experience the culture and have a good time? I must be a weeaboo! Shame on me for wanting to go to Japan, and everyone else who has done the same.

I was going to put myself under anonymous, but honestly, this isn't a secret.

I'm a weeaboo for dedicating my life to a culture and everything it has to offer? I'm majoring in Japanese, I have a huge respect for the language and people (not just anime!manga!omgkawaii!! thanks) and the beauty of the country itself. Just because I chose Japan to concentrate on, doesn't give you the right to call me a weeaboo. I'm actually doing something with my life that will allow me to travel around the world, and no not just to Japan. What about you OP? How's that cubicle you sit in each day?
