...You feel inferior to fans of a movie you don't care much about, just because they do? I think that's a slight overreaction. Different people have different tastes, and not same movies appeal to everyone. For example, I've never understood what's so great about The Lion King, despite being a fan of animated films.

But yeah, some Wall-E fans will bite if you even dare to suppose it's not absolutely perfect. It doesn't seem to be one of those fandoms where you can hang around if you just think the movie was OK and you kinda liked it. This overprotectiveness is probably the worst trait of said fandom. Other than that, they're relatively sane (for a fandom), at least those I've met.

However, a lot of fandoms tend to think whatever-they're-fans-of is amazing. That's because a fandom is built out of the people who think that in the first place.

I never considered that! But wouldn't it be rather hard on poor Fantasio's nerves?
Hmm... still, I think I kinda like this pairing better than Fantasio/Spirou, because those two have been so close for so long the thought feels vaguely incestuous to me (I realise this line of thinking may be weird), plus I always figured Spirou for asexual anyway.

(I tend towards Fantasio/Seccotine myself, especially if they have a kid and Fantasio becomes a stay-at-home dad for a few years - for some reason I think he could be a great dad. ;))

138. ...and? Heck, why should FANFICS matter in your opinion of a show? If it bothers you that much, don't look up the fics. Then you can judge based on the shows merits, not the fans. And even if you do like Gundam 00 better, why is that bad? Gundam Wing can still have a place in your heart like many American anime fans have for, say, Robotech, even if they recognize Macross is better.

Basically...watch it. Gundam 00 is good, and there's no reason to not watch a good show because you're worried it will make you not like a different show. And after you watch 00, watch some UC, G, X, and Turn-A. There's lots of Gundam out there, and Wing is actually a fairly mediocre one. But you can still like it.

137 I know this post is a week old but yes, Oberstein is indeed quite sexy. It's a mixture of his voice, intelligence, and utter mindblowing pragmatism. But mostly the voice.

Also, not original; that's just a poorly phrased (and kind of offensive, as you seem to be buying into the gender division going on) version of TONS of already existing television scholarship. Also, hybridity between the serial and the episodic has been around since the 80s; Lost and Heroes, and even Buffy, did not come out of nowhere.

Oh my God, a fellow fan. ♥ I thought I was alone, I really did. This play is so fucking amazing--I can't recall how often I just wanted to burst into tears when I was reading it, just because everything and everyone is so damn emotional and believable. I've seen it performed a month ago, and while especially Mary and her husband weren't quite like I had expected them to be, it still was a great experience, and I'm so glad I went.
