Overall, I've spent about $2000 on 7 dolls and all their clothes, eyes and wigs. Not enough for a down payment on a house in the least. That's two months rent where I live.

I'm not rich, but I've sacrificed other hobbies to make room for dolls in my life. If I didn't have dolls to focus on, I probably would have just wasted my money on cheap plastic toys that break and fall apart and lose value the second they come out of the box. Financially, I think it's actually better because I'm finally learning how to save instead of buying on impulse.

I feel they're worth it. I think it's fun. I've met great people because of it. It's a great creative outlet (painting faces, sewing clothes, etc)... You don't get it? Oh well. Get over it.

If your friends are making stupid money decisions on dolls, I'm sure they'd be doing it on something else, an Xbox or DVDs or ceramic poodles.

133. You pretty much hit it on the head. I feel super offended by the writers. Sarah is pretty much the only influential female main character, and she is constantly love-sick all over the pages of the script (so is Chuck, but that's a whole 'nother ranting bag of Twilight-vagina apples). Every episode she shoves her breasts in his face and then backs off with "but your my asset, i can't sleep with you!". And to quote you "We get it, can we move on?".

As for the fangirls, holy fuck, they are awful. You express a difference of opinion politely, they and their gazillion friends fuck you up, badly. Plus, most of the fiction written in the fandom is pretty awful these days. All the good authors have left because of the fangirls.

And my few friends? they are some of those fangirls. :[

116: I want to agree, but at this point, I'm watching for the characters. Season 4 has been mostly crap plot- and direction-wise. Last week's episode is an exception, but not by much. But yeah, if they killed off any of the main characters at this point, I'd basically have no reason to watch, unless the writing and direction magically went back to even s2's standards.

116: Hell yeah. I think Peter should've died at some point in the past season and a half, and there are plenty of characters they could actually kill. It's not like we don't get enough time-warping and flashback to allow the actors more screentime, if it's really that important. xD It's so hard to actually care about their safety when you know no one's going to die.

However...isn't it pretty much implied that Cook's had a bad home life? Jack said something along those lines in an interview as well. I think he's one of the most interesting characters this series, tbh. And um after watching tonight's episode, it's pretty clear he's a total mess ^^'

BRILLIANT book. I completely agree OP. I'm the fastest reader ever (seriously I read OOtP in 4 and a half hours) but this 180 page book or whatever took me 5 words because I read every word twice the first time through, it's brilliant and gripping and creepy as all hell and I love it.

I wanted to see him in the Top 12 so bad. People think it's because Norman Gentle amuses me (he does), but it's also because I wanna hear Nick Mitchell TALK again. GUUH. But, as it were, the other people in the competition were better.

Wait. Not really. Adam and Nick Norman were pretty much the only ones I was voting for in that group. When it came down to both of them, I was in near tears.

I feel the same way. Fandom is supposed to be a two-way street. I want to talk to people and get to know them and have fun, not just stroke someone else's ego. It's cool with me if people don't want to respond to their feedback or LJ comments, I'm not here to tell anyone else what to do. But I will eventually stop trying to interact with them if I never hear back from them in return.

103:Even though it's been years since I watched Bambi, I think I have to agree with you. Hell, I even teared up a little when the Nostalgia Critic included Littlefoot's mom's death scene in his top 11 saddest nostalgic moments. It's just so sad :(

116:I'm watching the third season right now(up til episode six, so far)and the more I watch, the more I want to bang my head against a wall. Mohinder seems completely OOC, Claire is turning into an Emo kid, everyone is becoming badguys....I was hoping that they were going to introduce some new villains, not turning the heroes into villains. If there's anyone of the characters I really want to see dead, it's Sylar. Yes, he was a cool villain back in season 1, but now it's just getting tiring(Too bad he apparently can't die anymore, ever since stealing Claire's ability). RAAAAGE >:(

Personal opinion here.... but the two most annoying characters in the series are the two who physically cannot die. I quite like that they've made Sylar a little less 2D these days (even if the plotline is tedious), but he doesn't actually have anything to do with anyone any more. Not that he ever really did; S1 we didnt even see his face until Homecoming (yeah, there were casting reasons for that whatevs), S2 he had sweet FA to do with the main story, and S3.2 is ongoing. I really think S3.1 was the only one that incorporated him into the innermost circles of the plots, rather than being this boogeyman on the outskirts existing as a constant threat (threat. yeah right... who of important gets harmed?). Nonetheless, he's just one big cliche. But they're not gonna get rid of him cos he's ~*~omg so pretty~*~ or some crap like that.

And the less said about Claire the better. A friend once said to me that she's the Rose Tyler of the Heroesverse. I didn't see it until she said this, and I now kinda agree. Somehow things happening thousands of miles away (or in a TOTALLY different point in time), somehow revolves around her, or requires her input in one form or another. Personally, I think the best thing they can do for Claire is to make her into a proper villain, cos that would give true sense to the old "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" line (ie, if she's on the bad guys' side, they're unstoppable). They had a chance to do this when she stabbed Sylar in the head with the glass shard... it's the first time she's aimed to murder someone in cold blood. But they're just gonna let her plod around her own storyline being all angsty and teenage, aren't they? But they're not going to do anything to her because she's some sort of ~*~role-model~*~ or whatever similar shite.

Also, and personal opinion again here, but am I the only person who preferred Mohinder when he was shooting jizz out of his hands? It was kinda f#cked up, but at least it was original... but I suppose super-strength is just easier to produce, or whatever. =/

142. I agree that buying dolls (or anything that isn't a necessity) when you can't pay your bills is dumb, but otherwise, it's their money. Why do you care so much what they spend it on? Take your comparison with fashion--the people who buy those expensive clothes probably buy them to make themselves happy. And the people who buy expensive dolls buy them to make themselves happy. They're both hobbies, and neither is more valid than the other.
