I saved up for a doll, and it's more than paid for it's self in the amount of fabric I've saved on my hobby. I like to make costumes, and I can make them at a third scale, saving a ton on fabric and materials. He's also good for letting me make scale patterns for real people on a little bit of fabric and then size it up. I would have loved to have another doll with a different body shape, but yeah. The economy tanked and that's not feasible right now.

Not all of the doll people are crazy, just most of them. Not really sure why we get the disproportionally high level of nuts. *shrug*

this was a secret I made about a year ago, someone else seemed to have kept it and saved it to be reposted when everyone had forgotten it had already been put up here, lol. XD

Aaaanyway, I still stand by my sentiments. I mean, you collect expensive dolls as a hobby so you can play dress up with them/roleplay OCs with them/make photo stories of them, &etc. And you wonder why you get all the nutters??? Come on now.

LAND BEFORE TIME IS THE MOST DEPRESSING FILM EVER. D:

Also, that Sarah/Cera chick is a huge bitch. She insults his dead mom! Not on, Cera!

Re: 103

MTE. I watched that recently and just like 'she did not just insult his dead mother.' Pretty effed up. xD I'm picturing Kelly saying your comment and it's kind of awesome.

121. You and me both bb.

And afaik no one has requested it, but now that you've said it some bizarre mutation of Rule 34 will come into effect and it will get requested tonight.

Re: 121

[identity profile] wanderingscribe.livejournal.com 2009-03-06 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, I'm pretty sure I saw a request in the hetalia_kink delicious account last night. I just don't know if it's been filled or not.

[identity profile] makishef.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
105. They do have amazing chemistry. Can't blame you!

112. Ugh, I can see both sides of this, really. As someone who doesn't receive a billion comments, I try to respond to all (for fic or otherwise), even if I might get redundant. But those people who get 7 pages of comments probably get pretty overwhelmed; I see posts all the time from the more popular ficcers on my flist saying "I'm so sorry I'm behind on comments!" like it's an obligation of theirs to answer each person, which is sweet but understandably difficult. On the other hand, I also know it blows to feel consistently ignored. Idk what to tell you except that I empathize, sort of, but maybe cut some of these people some slack?

116. IA. It's very convenient that all of the main cast, including several who have canonically died and through time-warp/AU/sexy triplets/retcons came back, are still alive and well. Maybe they're leading us on, telling us, "Come on, we'd never really do it," so when they finally do kill seven leads in one fell swoop, we'll be stunned half to death?

Not likely, but it'd be pretty sweet.

130. I do love Chuck, but Olive and Emerson were my favorites.

140. I thought most lit geeks had read Lolita and do think it's a work of genius, or at least worthy of most of its critical praise. Did I miss something?

[Reposted to correct my lameness.]

(Anonymous) 2009-03-05 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't it be amazing if they did that?

I doubt they will, but it needs tragedy. It's too cosy. I can't tell if this is to keep the actors happy, or to keep the fangirls happy, but it's likely a mix of the two. Obviously if a character gets killed off, it's gonna cos a tidal wave of butthurt and wank. Hell, I'd be gutted if they killed off any of MY fave chars, but... sometimes it's neccessary. So bawwww. Get over it and quit being crushing twelve-year-olds.

This final statement is aimed at both the actors AND the fangirls. I think they need to kill off a good.... three members of the cast. For good. Though what's the odds they kill off Tracy and usher in the ~*~long lost triplet~*~ ? Srsly, I've got thoughts on who would be good to lose and who would be good to keep (and they dont match with my personal likes/dislikes), but... let's face it. It's too little, too late. I wanna see it get over this freakin phobia of affecting people's fragile sensibilities, but I'm not gonna put money on it.

Have they actually killed off a PROPER main cast member since Isaac in S1? I'd call Adam and Elle recurring characters, not Mains, partly cos they were rarely on the group promo shots (and were in their plotlines more to facilitate the development of other characters; Peter/Sylar for Elle, and Hiro/Peter for Adam). Hmmm. I get the feeling I'm overlooking somebody. But meh. You see what I'm getting at.

I'm convinced Nathan's gonna get Sylar'd, though. Because it happened in the first flashforward we ever saw. That future may not exist any more, but since when did they give a f#ck about continuity? >____>

But yes, glad to know SOMEONE out there understands the message I was trying to fit into a 600x600 Paint picture. Apologies for the tl;dr'ness. ♥

113. I don't get it. =| Can someone explain to me why this is a big deal? I assume it's an inappropriate show for the young 'uns, but details would be appreciated.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It is the story of how a young man arrives at a town where SPOILERS SPOILERS OH GOD SPOILERS EVERYWHERE DO NOT READ BETWEEN THE CAPS IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS a strange curse, due to the modernization of Japan leads to places where spirits nest getting uprooted, cause the citizens of the town to A, live in a time-loop and B, go absolutely ape-shit murderously insane. In graphic ways. Horrible, horrible graphic ways. As in we get to see the young man get viciously murdered, people stab themselves in the head and how people slowly, slowly succumb into utter madness.

All drawn with the most deceptively cutesy style, to purposefully make you lower your guard.

If those kids can sleep after that, I for one am impressed. And a little terrified.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
103. Oh hell yes. Land before Time didn't even try and make it better with a happy song and playing bluebirds, so you bet that one hit harder.

110. Intriguing. Is this short online somewhere for me perusal?

119. Oh lord Usagi Drop. It is just so darn heartwarming I read it, even as I feel my chesthair receding and aprons starting to hover over me, and I just couldn't care less: if I can be as much of a decent man as the father there, I'll be happy with my lot in life.

145. I have actually never seen this movie, despite being a Phantom fan (and really, what Swedish comic-book fan worth their salt ISN'T?). Should I remedy this?

149. Wow... I don't know why, lots of people name themselves after their favorite fictional characters here on the net, but seeing it in print... and seeing BB say something so quietly and not-insanely, just makes this image so surreal.

153. Is this another BBC show, and if it's not... why does it get compared to Merlin of all shows? There seems to be quite the... divide, between them.

n!s 1. Altair and the Darkness? Well... it would be harsh to have powers like that under the Middle-Eastern sun, is my first thought.

112 - Eh, I always wonder about this. I only reply to comments that say something I want to reply to. It's not that I don't appreciate the other comments,it's just that I feel kind of lame saying 'thanks for reading' over and over again. Also, I kind of have this issue with artificially augmenting the amount of comments I get - like, if I get six comments and reply to all of them then wow! it looks like I've got twelve... Only not. :/

116 - In principle? I sort of agree. But I will fucking WEEP if they try to kill Nathan off again. Seriously. >:( Redemption through death is sucky and overused, and Nathan's too pretty to die.

121. I sort of feel the same way.

146. Can’t unsee.

149. That is so many kinds of epic. SO MANY. And I don’t even like DN anymore.

154. Waaay late to the game, my friend, but I agree with you.

136 - I watched this with my dad, it was good. I loved the part where they had to share a wife, and the fact that NOONE could sing!

145 - This is the first movie I ever fangirled. I was so little at the time I didn't understand, only years later did I realize the obsesive nature of my interst in it. I totaly would have written fanfiction if I had known such a thing existed, I had really elaborate daydreams.

103. OH GOD Littlefoot's mom ;_______;
119. It does! .. But mostly towards boys, hmm.

140

[identity profile] herniates.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with this so much; Lolita was one of my favorite books of all time. Nabokov was such a brilliant man. It's such a beautiful love story, but people only pay attention to the surface of it.

101, 103

[identity profile] purple-sammich.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
101. Well, I watched Repo! without knowing anything about it except Paris Hilton was in it. I ended up loving the movie more than I could have fathomed. I mean, I watched it for the first time a week ago today and I've seen it three more times since. I also ordered the DVD and I'm getting the soundtrack over the weekend. I've also been drawing fanart. Basically, it's just an awesome movie in general. So, uh, yeah. You're not automatically required to like it (I won't hate you if you don't :P), but if you do, that's great! It really is fun times. :0

103. The death of Littlefoot's mom traumatized me as a kid and still upsets me to this day, especially since I've always been prone to the occasional my-mom's-leaving-me dreams and my-mom's-dead dreams. :( So, yeah, I still cry when I watch The Land Before Time. It makes me want to call my mom and tell her I love her every time.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2009-03-05 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
103. For real. I mean, Mufasa's death is the worst one for me, but I really don't see why Bambi's mother is the iconic one. It's off-screen! Kids don't get that! (Well, I didn't.)

116. It seems like they'll kill off secondary every other episode, but yeah, the main dudes keep coming back. Whatever; I stopped taking this show seriously a while ago. It would make more sense to kill off some main peeps, but then there'd be less pretty to go around, and this show needs its pretty. Badly.

130. OMG, she so has to! Itty-Bitty and...Not So Itty-Bitty forever! Ugh, I'm so fucking pissed that they axed it. D:<

135. ...WELL, SHIT, I'M GONNA HEAR IT THAT WAY NOW TOO. (And that's really kind of OK with me. :D)

140. That would be really quite nice. I'd love to take a class on it as well; I read it on my own and I'm afraid I missed things. It's always nice to talk these things out.

146. HEE, it is! And it's better because of the super-lame 'shout-out' in the movie when Edward catches the apple in the cafeteria. Because, you know, people really hold things that way. LOLZ.

If you're thinking of going to A-Kon there will be a discussion panel on BJDs. It's being hosted by Louisiana Resin of which I'm the Vice President. We had a really good turn out last year and hope the same for this year.

And if the thought of digging through the mass of threads on Den of Angels sounds daunting, I'd be more than happy to answer whatever questions I can. ^-^

OMG I LOVE this movie. Sometimes I just put it in the DVD Player and have a blast singing along (and dancing along to 'Hand Me Down that Can of Beans'). I even named my first serious boyfriend's car after the song 'They Call the Wind Mariah' because she was a beautiful sports car that could go very fast.
