108. FUCKING AGREED. Though I hate it with a fiery flaming passion because I read the book (plus the sequel and most of Roald Dahl's other books) when I was a kid, and seeing the movie (which I did not know existed until then) one day at school was the biggest disappointment of my childhood. So fucking cheesy and stupid and ARGH I HATE THAT MOVIE SO MUCH. Upon watching it as an adult (and still hating it), I know that they made it into a sickeningly overacted, dumbed-down piece of crap, but back then I just hated it so much that I CRIED. It didn't help that all my friends loved the movie, either. (I also hated the movie versions of Matilda and The Witches for the same reason.) But I love the Depp version, it's much closer to the original tone/feel of the book.

I am SO glad that this episode made you realize you need help. *hugs* I hope you get it, and I'm glad SVU IS making a difference in your life, and hopefully in others as well.

I think....maybe find a different therapist, if you can. I tried a few times and it was useless - didn't try again for years until I'd promised someone I loved (far, far more than they loved me, I think) that I wouldn't put them through seeing me die. Found someone good on my next try, and it's helped. Though I think this is easier if you're the one who has control over your medical care.

Otherwise, sometimes it helps to find a clear, private bit of floor and just scream and thrash and cry with all the whys - because no one, no one deserves these these things. Waltzing along the edge of insanity is bad enough without having to be fight to be functional for everyone all the time goddamn time, so sometimes it helps to just let go and let yourself be insane somewhere were you won't accidentally hurt yourself. Though mine is the agony and ecstasy of bipolar disorder, so what you feel could very well be totally different, and this could be no reference...

Ultimately, I've found that the people who are not only the most comforting, but also the most likely to have the strength to hold you up when you need it, are those who have also had complete and utter shit flung at them. Mostly, others either can't really relate or run screaming in the other direction.

I hope you see this and it helps, whoever you are. You're not alone in the world, yeah? :) And I hope you find what you're looking for.

I can't say I ship it, but I hated the movie's treatment of Justin's character. I found him really sympathetic, not skeevy.

If you want to be friends, I'm totally down with that. I tend to friend people because of fandoms, then stick around for their lives. I've had the same old friends for years now, and we've fallen in and out of fandoms together. Lots of us aren't even on the same page fandom-wise anymore, but I don't really see that as a reason to stop being friends with someone.

Am I the only one getting the vibe that when OP says "she made cancer a joke" that the reasoning ebhind that is "I laughed like a joyful mother fucker when she died of cancer, which is not right, but thats clearly her fault for being such an unlikeable whore"

Dollhouse did have a terrible pilot, I'll fully agree with that. The show seems to be pickign up speed now though, so hopefully people will catch on :)

Oh, and the original Joss pilot that FOX nixed got leaked, and from what reactions I've read, far surpasses the one FOX aired.

Haha, just as they started playing all the trailers I decided I needed to make a final trip to the bathroom before settling down to watch such a long movie. I literally sprinted there and back so that I wouldn't miss the Star Trek trailer.

It's cool... I have a love/hate thing with Alan Moore, myself. He creates these awesome concepts and really interesting characters, but he just automatically takes them to the darkest places possible, and while the fans applaud him for it, it just wears me out.

Watchmen had the virtue of never having been tried before, and that's why fans hold it up in such high esteem.
