114. It's 'cause lots of the writers are straight women! duh! (including slef) will take that into consideration though.
137. OMG I didn't even notice they were the same person!!! I thought he was so sexy as Cedric! no I'm not going tolet them be the same person, I'm going to pretend I never read this so I can keep loving him.

Sorry to burst your bubble, OP, but the UK has more than its share of crap TV. It's not a magical wonderland full of whimsy and excellence. It's just another country. By the way, they have racism and stupid people there, just like in the US.

106. Man, what happened to Naruto there? I’m about a hundred chapters behind. I guess I should catch up.

124. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Granted, I would have hated the God/angels plotline sans him anyway because it’s so full of holes and ridiculous deus-ex-machina-I-wrote-myself-into-a-corner-so-I’ll-have-God-fix-it dumbassery, but he made me hate it even more. And his legion of squeeing fangirls…yet even more. Seriously, just kill everyone else off and rename it ‘The Castiel Hour’ already like everyone seems to want.

134. I was meh about it and never bothered to pick it up again after the first season. The only good thing about it was crazy!Baltar. Now that I’ve read on the internets how it ends, I’m glad I didn’t waste my time because I’d be really pissed right about now.

I scoped out all the comments for that secret, and it turns out the OP was purposely trying to piss people off so they'd rebelliously go see the movie. Apparently it worked. xd

But I am JEALOUS. I have searched all over the universe, and cannot find the movie anywhere and it's driving me completely insane. How the hell did you watch it? D:

[identity profile] x-kchan-x.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
137. THIS.

155. Oh man, Moonlight was so terrible. That's half the reason why it was worth watching. Especially while playing drinking games!

I can't believe it's taken eleven pages for someone to make this comment, but don't hate the playa', hate the game.

119. LOL! Yes, yes you are, sorry.

125. Hahaha, that awesome.

133. Oh man, is there a good part of that fandom?! ‘Cause everything I find is total shit! The art is okay and delightfully cracktastic, but the fic… makes me want to vomit everywhere.

138. That’s adorable.

143. Why would that shit pile need a guide? There’s not much to it.

[identity profile] jaclynhyde.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
105. Heeee.
108. Honestly, I don't see the point to it (do secret-makers actually remember what day they were posted and respond to comments there?), but it's really easy to scroll past. And if some people get use out of it, what's the harm?
123. Jesus Christ "lose all respect" secrets are fucking obnoxious. Does this apply if they didn't like the movie, or do they then lose all your respect for having different tastes than you?
129. Moviemandias goes so well with macros and silliness.
132. Hooray, the stream of "I WANT TO DO RORSCHACH" and "YOU'RE A STUPID FANGIRL IF YOU WANT TO DO RORSCHACH" secrets begins (well, continues)...
134. Not liking one show doesn't make you a bad fan (of science fiction, I presume?). People have individual tastes, and even classics aren't loved by all (and no, not because "they don't understand it").
139. BERNARD YES
151. I'm sure multiple people have told you this already, but there are new threads on /coq/, and a lot of the /pco/ posters are on LJ ([livejournal.com profile] watchdom, in particular).
Too Big 1. Judge away. We're having fun.
Too Big 3. Gender issues are a lot more complicated than "either you have surgery or you're completely comfortable in your birth sex."

Y HALO THAR JOSS WHEDON! Seriously, Joss, why does everyone get stomach wounds (sometimes fatal) in your shows?

OP-- Whoops. You caught me!

(Anonymous) 2009-03-24 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Joss Whedon reads Naruto, Bleach, and Fullmetal Alchemist? orly?

Do I really need a reason? Besides the explosion of drama and complications in the plot as well as character development(or lack thereof)?

What would you prefer? Crushed arteries or sudden inexplicable viruses that causes people to turn into sex-crazed super-soldiers that eat only cartilage-- hangonasecond! I'm gonna write this down for a future show.

I do it for the lulz.

Wouldn't you?

152

[identity profile] satlure.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
You should join thatsnotmyknife, their LJ group. I haven't updated with new fic in a while, but I might after this secret...writer's block gone!

Don't worry, you're not alone. And they are adorable together. Have you seen their interviews? So cute.

[identity profile] kimberweeme.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
115 - I adore Martha.

124 - Castiel is the best thing that has happened to that show in ages.

134 - I tried watching the show week to week and found it incredibly boring. But if you watch, say, half a season at a time, it's actually pretty exciting. Go figure.

144 - It's called the Internet. Join the 21st century like the rest of us Americans, m'kay? (Also, Amerikkka? Really?)

154 - Word.

155 - I admit to loving Moonlight, but I'm not at all involved in the fandom.

[identity profile] shadowhuntress.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
119. I don't really ship them, but I'll read just about any pairing, and you're right that there is a lack of fic. I think I've only read one written many years ago that wasn't rapefic or crackfic.

[identity profile] ariseishirou.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
113. Well, thing is, RPGs are one of the few genres of console games that are marketed to female gamers. So it doesn't surprise me that those games would be most popular amongst female gamers - they're intended to be.

That said, you can always chip away at your female friends who like RPGs; get them to play action games with pretty boys, like RE and DMC, or FPSs with highly slashy content like AoT. I did this to my female gamer friend who used to like nothing more than RPGs, Sonic, and DDR, and now she and I AoT, FEAR, and Gears of War together :3

Once they realize that yes, these games are also fun, and yes they can get good at them with a little effort, you're golden.

Re: 113

[identity profile] sparky-ld.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Action-RPGs such as Paper Mario or the Tales series can act as a bridge, too.

...at least, they helped act as a bridge in the other direction for me.

155. It's just 'cuz Mick's hotter than Sparkly-poo. Not every Moonlight fan is rabid, I promise. :)

105. I KNOW RIGHT?! I TOTALLY ship them. NO SHAME! XD

101. No shame there. I'm glad you have a person you like so much :) I'm happy for you, Anon.

141. Oh dear. I just burst out laughing. I think I'm going to Hell too.

143. Um, it's called ghostwriting. As long as all involved parties agree to it, there's nothing wrong with it. I love to hate all things Twilight as much as the next person, but I really don't see what the problem is here.

144. Look it up online. That's what all the cool kids are doing anyway, and it means you get to see the episodes as they air.

Also: WHY would you spell "America" that way? D:

143

(Anonymous) 2009-03-24 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
maybe when you're a celebrity with no writing skills or dead or semi-dead ghost-writing is okay. but an living author who pumped out two novels in the last year this reeks like a desperate money-grab.

103. Dude, just ew.

106. I'm gonna go ahead and say 'Death Junkie'. Though, of the characters in your secret I recognize, maybe not. The authors aren't about to kill off their main characters.

109. Dude, he'll do another show. Chillaxe.

117. Wait, McGee was in Hocus Pocus? The one with Bette Midler? He was the black cat?!

135. If you like his engrish, start paying attention to his Spangrish.

118, heh. I've always liked the crack-factor of "and then a gigantic alien psychic vagina-squid KILLS EVERYONE ONOES!" but the movie's ending was both smart as hell and a total bitch move. plus, there was Dan seeing Rorschach die and going all REVEEEEEEEEEEEEEENGE on Adrian's face, thus giving us kinked-up Bloody Adrian and everything was all to the good.

120. WOO.

123, not cool. and this is coming from one of them elitist comic fans.

132, word. it's not fangirling or lusting over the dude that I have a problem with (cause....well. FUCK you JEH!), it's the changing everything about his character so he fits into somebody's bishie-box.

141. I guess I'm on my way too now, cause I laughed like fucking crazy at this secret XD

144, download it.

147, hook up with an artist and create your own characters. the comic book world needs moar badass chick power, doubly so for villains.

[identity profile] belestmonstre.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
122. So if someone... plays a game, and treats it as a game, you lose all respect for them, because "IT'S JUST A GAME NOT LIFE OR DEATH OMG"?

Yeah, that makes no sense and you fail a lot.

123. Then you're an elitist jerk. Good job being one of the ones that makes your fandom look bad. I look forward to the number of people in Watchmen fandom who will undoubtedly tell you to stop being on their side.

129. The Bad News Is That You Have Cancer
The Good News Is That It's Sexy Cancer

I LOL'D REALLY HARD OKAY I'm not even in this fandom and that's like. A++ best ever.

135. Oh man, yes. Engrish makes me smile.

141. That is fucking tragic and I should not have giggled. >O

146. 99% of the time it's a retarded argument, but I actually weep the most the 1% of the time it's actually true.

149. ... I don't even see how that would be "giving Broadway geeks a bad rap." He said nothing offensive in there -- just that he's really not interested in Broadway music or show tunes, and just did musicals because it was what was available, not because it was his dream. He said he didn't have anything against a Broadway theme or songs from musicals, but that he hopes they don't do one this year so he can actually sing the kinds of music he really loves and can showcase what he hopes to make a living doing.

151. God, this is why I don't go to forums/boards like that. It seems like too much of the time, the people with power are elitist asses who get pissed off when people are having fun without taking things 100% OMG SERIOUSLY, and usually decide to get totally insulting about it. Those people are the ones who need to grow up, not the ones they're looking down their noses at.

too big #1: While I can see where you're coming from, don't you think you could be doing something better with that energy, rather than looking down on people who are having fun? Like concentrating on the things that make you happy, and having fun yourself?

too big #3: While the examples you give of your friend sound (a bit overly?) immature?

SIT DOWN. AND THINK BEFORE YOU TALK.

Having a vagina =/= YOU'RE A GIRL. And one doesn't have to go all the way through surgery to be transgendered. There are a few downsides to surgery, and some people might be fucking scared of it. If she is really a he? It doesn't matter if he ever gets the surgery. Don't claim to know that someone "isn't really" transgendered just because they were born one sex and haven't had surgery yet, or even if they never plan to. It's completely insulting.

WHY SO MUCH FAIL TODAY :C

Holy shit, a reply to my secret! I was really not expecting that! ^^;

But yeah. Thank you, in a way, for posting that secret. It hurt to remember, but it carried sweet memories with it. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who would watch/stop watching Lost because of him. XD

Ironically, I just had a wonderful MSN conversation with my Charlie half an hour ago. Easily the best we've had in a long time, haha.

You're a fucking cunt.
Seriously.
How can you think less of someone just because they play a game you don't like? That's pretty petty.
For the record, not everyone who plays WoW thinks it's a 'life or death' thing.
OP, when you say things like that I don't know how anyone could take YOU seriously.

137

[identity profile] airborn.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Word.

[identity profile] yuumeko.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
122. Yeah, because all people who play WoW think of it as a lifestyle, not as a game. Bitter secret is bitter.

135. Yeah, I don't see why people complain too much about Engrish, when our community also sees the Japanese language as trendy or facisnating as well.

137. Agreed, when I see his actor, I still think of "Cedric" first, not Ed. If someone says Edward, I still think FMA >_>

148. WIN WIN WIN, we have top secret of this post.
