For a while I agreed with you, but then I recognized the threshold- There are people who play the game in their spare time, and there are people who can ONLY talk about the game, in a series of INEXPLICABLE ACRONYMS, when they meet someone who has ANY IDEA WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.

I've been the former, but I hate the latter.

124. I love the God/angels storyline, but I still wish Castiel would GO AWAY. He's not needed.

Anna can stay though. I'm biased and I like her.

[identity profile] la-petite-singe.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
108. I'm not sure I really know what it's for, tbh.

114. Interesting point. I have a slash scene coming up in something I'm writing, and yet full sex doesn't really make sense in context. I guess you have to get creative sometimes.

118. Hee, well, the squid totes would not have worked onscreen, it would have looked too silly. And it did kinda work having him 'use' a character we already knew...but I still think people would want ~justice~ and want to track Jon down or whatever. Not that they could do anything to him, I just think there'd be a bunch of nutjobs out there who weren't satisfied by the whole 'self-exile to another galaxy' thing.

123. All respect? That's a bit harsh. Personally I just sort of don't want to hear what they thought of the movie (especially if it's negative) because I feel like it's one of those where you NEED to read it to get it. They're complementary.

125. *DED OF LOLZ* That's a fair point. Oh man. That whole thing was brilliant. (But why did Moody have a ferret in his, you know, crotch at the Yule Ball...?!)

137. Well, yeah! [livejournal.com profile] iconzicons made a great graphic of Cedric dead on the ground caption "DED (too much sparkling)" and it made me giggle a lot, though. The mocking!crossovers can be awesome.

138. It kinda makes the infamous 'dirtiest joke in the world' a lot more disturbing. Possibly.

143. I'M SORRY, I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER MY SCREAMS OF HORROR THAT A TWIHARD WRITES REMUS FANFIC. You stay AWAY from my favorite darling, you wingnut. D: D: D:

153. Hon? I've been working on eleven-chapter fic for four years. I'm on chapter 8. And no one reads it anymore (possibly because I update, like, once a year). You are not alone. :P

154. Interesting point! If people want to show how others how it's done properly, that's really the best way.

120: glad I'm not the only one that enjoyed that, although marshal and lily are perhaps the only happily married couple that I enjoy watching and root for, I still think it would be great.

124: thank goodness, I am so flippin sick of all the castiel love, and wish he had been killed off instead of Uriel, way to go SPN team killing off the black guy, aren't you so ahead of the mainstream

134: Somehow I doubt they will stop talking about the show for quite some time, as there was quite a lot to discuss, and questions still left unanswered, and of course the it sucked/ i loved it

Re: 124

[identity profile] onydanse.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
They killed Uriel? Huh. Poor guy. He should have been squeeworthy and had more eyesex with Dean, then he might have survived. Honestly, I fully expect Kripke would kill off Sam & Dean (again, for good) before he would enrage legions of hormonal fangirls by even injuring Castiel. It’s sad, really.

Like [livejournal.com profile] leonhart29, who has already posted, I was a friend of Sere, too, and her death is genuine. (Proof? Her name's still on my LJ FL.)

A good writer, yes, but I knew her also as a kind-hearted, compassionate person. Her loss is keenly felt.

THIS.

Castiel is a pointless, stupid character. And Misha Collins can't act.

Nothing to do with what gay men do or don't do, it's about telling a story. If those specific characters in that specific story fuck, they fuck. If they don't, they don't.
If it feels forced, it's just bad story telling.

(and yes, I've written both in many variations)

124

[identity profile] callie-828.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
124:: BRB, laughing at you forever.

115. She was the only reason I even WATCHED Dr WHo for a while. >__>

154. You say you've been following Racefail, but clearly you missed the rebuttal to your argument right hurrr. (http://deepad.livejournal.com/29656.html) Which I find hilarious because it was like, the SECOND thing posted during the whole thing. Anyway, it's a really good essay, I'd recommend it.

Furthermore, I'm going to assume your scrollbar works, so just ... you know, scroll by? I would never presume to tell people what they should be discussing in their own space. If I don't want to read something I won't. Also, DAMN, I got a headache trying to read that secret, dude.

[identity profile] saramiskismet.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
104. Winchesters = New Edward, Y/N? (I mean, obviously a bit more bearable than Eddikins, but...)

114. Ooh, insight.

116. LOLOL once we are conscious of our power there is no stopping us, is there, America?

117. I don't watch NCIS but, SQUEEEEE ZACHARY! ZACHARY BII-IINKS!

119. Rape!fic involving Hagrid? WHAT. D< That is.... no, not Hagger! As victim OR perpetrator!!!

123. Okay you guys, WHATTHEFUCK it's not like Watchmen had a lot of pop culture presence before now.

132. As you can see above, all I know of the source material is what a friend of mine has told me, but WTF RORSHACH NO.

143. The Lex is nucking futts. Good riddance.

144. It comes on in the early mornings on SciFi? WHAT TIME AND WHICH SEASON? I only catch it on Saturdays when I'm at my mom's house because she gets BBC America...

145. ....no i don't think they did *shrug*

155. o_o Shit.

5am EDT/4am CDT on Friday mornings. They ran series 3 about eleventy billion times, now they're re-running series 4 ... AND SKIPPING JOURNEY'S END ENTIRELY! Seriously. The series ends with the Doctor "regenerating" in The Stolen Earth, and then wham! back to Partners in Crime the next week.

It's rather loltastic.

116

[identity profile] mahkia.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
116. You do realize the original secret writer was TRYING to piss Americans off in order to create a larger fandom? It was...all over the comments. So, okay, be pissed off if it increases the fanbase. That's what they wanted anyway.

[identity profile] scarletumbrella.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
116 - LOL

117 - Aww. ^_^

[identity profile] tenmorehours.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
101. I'd like to think that people that are intelligent would understand if people have different pairings. ^^; If you're in the same fandom, then surely you have enough to talk about without having to lie to her?

113. I like the pretty boys and the gameplay, if that counts? But I'm probably not living near you. And while I'm capable of enjoying shooters, I suck at them...XD;

131. I don't think that's something you need to be ashamed over. You didn't know her personally, I'm guessing, you just knew her work--but she still touched you with it. It's a sign she touched someone, even if it was briefly. She left her mark on the world that way.
Gosh, it's sad to think of someone dying, though, even if I don't know who this is.

146. That is the most overused comeback in fandom, I swear...

[identity profile] leonhart29.livejournal.com 2009-03-24 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
She was a wonderful writer and person.

I don't find anything shameful in this either. If you only knew her through her work and loved her for it, you're ahead of the game.

101. I want to know the real life people involved in this. Or rather, their internet personalities. I am intrigued.

114. I think it might be because a lot of straight people (likely females) write it and can't imagine true sex where someone's not getting penetrated/mimicking some representation of straight sex. Just a guess.

116. Lol, super American powers. Watch out!

146. Haha, I love that argument. It tells you that the people you're dealing with are self absorbed little cunts and are actually really insecure.

Re: 114

(Anonymous) 2009-03-24 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
114. True. Especially because a lot of the writers are women (and/or virgins) their only experience of m/m sex is probably through fanfiction or pornography which are not terribly representative of real life sexual interactions.

If people can and do "write their own books", it's getting published that's the problem. Didn't think about that when you wrote your little secret whining for people to shut up, right?
