I can't stand that type of female lead, but I don't mind it in this drama because the more ridiculous she is, the funnier the magical link is.

I wasn't overly enamoured by either of the leads honestly, Orchid's personality is nails-on-a-chalkboard cutesy and Dongfang for me was just kind of... dull and one-note? I liked it when they switched bodies because it gave both the actors the ability to do something different which I really liked, but after that stopped I got a bit bored with the show. I still finished it and liked it overall but the supporting cast kept me around more tbh as I found them more enjoyable to watch.

Best dog-friend Shang Que and Cheng Heng were my faves.

This secret reads like it was written by the same person that wrote secret 2.

I have no idea tbh, I've been in a 10 year long relationship and kissing for me is just kind of gross honestly. It doesn't make me feel tingly or warm or anything described in books, it's just wet and unpleasent for me. But I also don't like being touched very much so it's probably part of that.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't quite understand why people post on Hoyolab anyway. It just... skews too young and anti-laden for me.

It's not off to a great start for me. My boiler broke down today and I'm now without heating or hot water until the engineer can come.

Same with Muslim-headcanons, really. I'd say same for Christian headcanons but those are mostly met with derision anyways so meh.

AYRT - this was kind of comforting, because that sounds like me except for the 10 year long relationship and made me believe it's not just my lack of experience. Thanks, anon

What do you want to do in 2023?

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily your resolutions, but what things, big or small, do you want to do in the next 12 months?

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The magical link was funny, and I enjoyed the moments where the two characters switched bodies. If the whole series had been a comedy instead of a drama with comedic moments, I think I would've finished it without issues.

For me, I want to be able to run a full 5k without stopping or walking. I also want to try baking my own bread and making sushi.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, from my (admittedly limited) experience of Hoyolab it seems very juvenile.

Kissing does generate a physical response, but it's also worth remembering that the same response gets exaggerated for the sake of the fantasy in these works of fiction. After all, what people are looking for there is an idealized idea of romance and sex, which has absolutely nothing wrong with it. Feeling hot and bothered in real life? Yes. Ears ringing? My sibling in god you might be having a stroke.

Re: Fandom question, or maybe not fandom

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ears ringing, not personally.

But if I'm attracted to someone, kissing can lead to arousal (which to some people could feel like body burning I guess).

Basically, all the bodily metaphors in romance novels to do with kissing/sex etc are about arousal. So just copy replace what arousal means to you and it should make more sense.

Personally, I never felt anything like that until I actually kissed someone I felt attracted to. Without that, kissing is a bit gross to me.

Are there physiological effects due to arousal? Yes. Do they vary in nature and intensity for each individual depending upon their circumstances? Also, yes. General body state, immediate body state (like injury or illness), mood, attraction, and environment can all play a part.

AYRT - lmao, thanks a lot anon

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds frustrating, OP.

Do you think identifying what it is about Noragami that excites you so much is world help? You might be able to search for content like it that you could enjoy without getting hyperfixated.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
From what you've said, you seem to have come off okay in this interaction - a handful of people like your post and no one is actively coming after you.

What you seem to be annoyed about is that the majority isn't on your side and that no one is calling out person A for deleting threads, threatening to flounce and then backtracking.

Person A's behaviour does sound immature. But your fixation on how everyone else is reacting is also immature.

You can't control what other people do or think. Just learn what you can from this interaction and let it go. This will likely not be the first argument you have on the internet that doesn't go your way, and it's better to learn early how to handle disagreement with grace.

There was plenty of information in the secret to work this out. I personally immediately knew what sites they were talking about from the picture alone, despite never seeing an episode.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I hope the drama on HoyoLab (whatever that is) was about how bad of a show Forever is.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate this takedown as it affirms my decision to not watch this when it came out.

Love Ioan Gruffudd though.

(Anonymous) 2023-01-01 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I am just not interested in religious head canons in general. I am not the target audience, and that's okay. (It might help to repeat that last part to yourself a few times, OP.)

Get my commercial drivers licence, visit the Isle of Arran, go to either Manchester or London, ideally get paid to do so as per first goal.

The reason it failed is obvious: it's a network television genre procedural, when everyone knows that the sweet spot for television shows is the basic cable or straight-to-syndication genre procedural

Make actual friends, I guess. But I know walking around with a fear of "you'd better not be a (important topic)denying asshole backstabber in disguise" isn't great, doesn't come off warmly and isn't anyone else's problem anyway. I know that's shit I need to work on. It just makes it hard to know who can be trusted and who can't.

Hoping to get that ID theft shit issue resolved in my favor soon. But it's been quiet so who knows wtf is going on.

I'd like to find affordable housing in an area that isn't shit or besieged by fucking bugs. Well, I guess that's at least partly dependent upon external factors.

Well, I guess this is turning more into a wishlist than stuff to be planned. On the fandom side, I hope to have a great of inspiration and am able to complete all those works in progress.
