I agree with this comment. However, I think the original secret was just worded poorly, because if you're writing fiction about homosexual characters, there's tolerance towards it, right?

Also? Salaam. ♥ I'm a born, raised, practicing Muslim myself.

You can say this for every writer in the world who does do that, then?

"No" really doesn't give us any sort of point.

You're doing it wrong, son. You're either with them or against them. Make your choice, there's no middle ground.

Was it really that hard to "decipher" what point she was trying to make? o__O

If you're like "I hate/dislike/am afraid of gay people but whatever, they can do what they want, I won't stop them, they can be on my tv shows and my neighbours and that, but... they're *so* going to hell/They are *so* gross and disgusting and perverted/they really creep me out" then yes, that's not tolerance. Not that I'm saying you think that, that's just an example.

I'm with the original commenter, here. Writing about something in fiction is different from seeing it IRL. The concept does freak some people out, for religious or non-religious reasons. Yeah, I can see how homophobia is bad, but 100% tolerance isn't going to happen anytime in the next century.

That's what i thought too, that it was worded poorly.
And, i don't understand how someone can write gay porn and not tolerate it, so in my oppinion i believe the person does tolerate it in some form or other.

Ohhh, hello XD! ♥

[identity profile] shahni.livejournal.com 2007-04-07 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. ♥ Glad to see someone who sees the middle ground in the matter. <3

Middle ground is good. I like it, it's nice and calm ¦D Atleast, i thought it was XD
