I've never really been horrified or disgusted by kinks in fandom before - don't like don't read is my motto - until now and age regression. Most because people just post it as a completely normal, non-kinky thing to have your adult character sucking a pacifier and wearing diapers. WTF?

tbh i get really hating a seeing a thing and like some things i see on r34 sites I half-wish weren't allowed if didn't create a huge problem. I am so tired of looking for horny art of my fave f/f couples and seeing loads of nasty lesbophobic vicious and emotionally hurtful cuck art with men because some man-toddlers are angry that a lesbian couple is canon.

I see it with Charlie/Vaggi (Hazbin Hotel) , with Lumity (Owl House) and probably other couples like it. and its especially infuriating to see because of the whole representation issues with sapphic couples (and this applies to gay ones too prob) that have had SUCH a fucking hard time being even allowed to air . And then some pieces of shit who almost exclusively draw the couples being viciously broken up and people telling me to 'get over it' because it's someone's kink.

But I also am wary of what banning it COULD set a precedent for. I just ugh why do some people suck?

Age regression or ABDL stuff can span a wide variety of things, is there some point in the spectrum you hate it or is it all of it? For me if everyone is still mentally an adult and are roleplaying or w/e it's not as weird, but if one of them is a child mentally it gets into actual underage stuff even if their body is 45 or w/e

OP The sexual stuff doesn't usually bother me because those writers/artists tend to tag appropriately. Not always (I have been jumpscared by more than one explicit fic that suddenly got into "baby" and "daddy") but far more than the non-sexual stuff.

As someone who enjoys age play (kink) and age regression (not kink) fics, age regression CAN be a kink but not always. So of course it wouldn't always be tagged. Unless I'm misreading and you mean something else.

tbf, even if it's not sexual for them, it should still be tagged. Tagging isn't only to avoid the sexual part, people may have it as a Squick for other reasons.

It can be a squick (or something that people like and search the tags for, though, even if it's not a kink, so I would tag for it.

I personally don't enjoy childish references in any form in fic, like babyfic or age regression or people calling their partner daddy or any of that.

Unless it's in the source material of course. If that's the case, people aren't surprised by it, like cannibalism in a Hannibal fic.

Are they not tagging it? Then yeah, that's asshole behavior, and, with these types of people, asking them to tag it will just get them saying iT's NoT a ReQuIrEd TaG as if they don't know that what they're doing is a dick move.

I wonder if part of it is because some people genuinely don’t see it or consider it as a kink in all cases.

I probably have a skewed perspective, since I mostly see these things while looking for de-aging fics (characters literally being turned into their younger selves) on AO3. But what I see there is quite a lot of (appropriately tagged) non-sexual ageplay or age regression.

I get it, OP. There are some kinks I really don't want to see. I don't mind that they exist; I just wish people would tag them so I can filter them out.

It really does suck when people think/pretend that their kink isn't a kink and therefore exempt from the courtesy of tagging.

What do you mean by posting as a normal non kinky thing? Do you mean not tagging? Or it not being sexual? Becuase I know a lot of people think kink=sex but that isn't actually true.

Kind of get you anon. Not a squick for me, but an artist I follow posts a lot of non-sexual art. I 100% believe that for them, it's not a sexual arousing thing, but they did go into a small rant about people asking them to tag it because of it, and I disagree with them about not doing it just because it's not sexual.

If the problem is people not wanting their non-sexual art around the theme to not be associated with the sexual side of it, just make a new term.

When I was in a larger fandom, there are a number of fics that age regress one character in particular. The majority of these fics the kink is not sexual.

Now, here I thought, exceptional! This character suffered a defining trauma at a young age, did not get to have a normal childhood because of it, and could benefit from the ability to 'go back to' that age and enjoy normal child things in a safe environment, with a trusted person facilitating that or even just on his own!

Reader, that is not what was popular. Oh no, it was almost always INFANCY, diapers, etc. Which, if that is what someone is into, far be it from me to tell them they're wrong, but it really felt like there was something psychologically juicy and also a very easy way to say 'here is my textual reasoning for making this character into ageplay' AND YET.

I'm curious if there's language issues going on here, because "age regression" was never a kink thing in my circles. It's mainly known as a trauma response and/or self-soothing technique for stress, it's not inherently sexual. Someone can age regress completely in private and nothing sex-related happens, and it doesn't involve pretending to be a baby. My ex would age regress due to CPTSD and they self-soothed by keeping their comfort plush toy with them at home.

Kinks like ABDL, DDLG, CGL can overlap with age regression, if someone engages in these acts *while* in an age regressed state... Yeah, I'm with you there. I DLDR but that grosses me the hell out too. I don't judge people into it, but I really really hate ABDL stuff in general.
