This secret is a real blast from the past, no pun intended, someone mad the MCU versions of characters are not identical to one of multitude of comic versions of the characters.

I've not seen that for years and years now. I guess this is a good sign that new people are still coming into Marvel Cinematic Fandom (to be weirdly hostile). Life in the old dog yet.

I liked the film, but I'm not very familiar with the Fantastic 4. IIRC There were quite a few reviewers whose videos I watched where there was common complaint that Reed Richards and Ben Grimm were stripped of a lot from the source materials. I know some people didn't like this film's interpretation of Johnny Storm either.

Maybe you're just not finding likeminded people in the spaces you frequent?

I am a Fantastic Four comics hater, so I didn't watch the movie, but it didn't seem to be particularly popular? I was dreading it suddenly becoming the Hot New Fandom so I was alert to fandom activity and it just didn't really happen.

Honestly I think people are just happy this adaption wasn't as bad as the previous ones. It wasn't great per say. But it wasn't the awfulness the earlier ones were.

Okay, so to explain: People without autism, who are not on the spectrum, are messy and do not categorise their minds like that. They do not separate things and thoughts into neat little mental categories they keep separate. They go into entertainment spaces with both entertainment thoughts and daily living thoughts all mixed up, and express them like that too.

I know it is confusing for you, but it is just one of those things you are going to have to adapt to in life.

When I was most active in fandom, writing the most fics, chatting the most with my fandom friends, sharing the most analysis and jokes, spending the most time with the source material... was the darkest and most fucked up points of my life, where really awful stuff was going on. I loved daydreaming about my favorite characters and coming up with fic projects, it gave me something to look forward to. I can't begrudge anyone who uses fandom as an escape, everyone needs lighthearted entertainment sometimes. Sometimes because their real situation is just too painful.

That said, I don't like when people act like fandom is completely disconnected from IRL, you still have to be mindful of others and conscious of IRL political issues in order to be sensitive, so everyone can enjoy the escapism. Not that you have to be perfect or give antis attention or anything, just be considerate.

I actually don't mind this kind of talk... as long as it's relevant. Like the creators are in support of fascism it makes sense to talk about. If the actors are defending or denying genocides it makes sense to talk about. If a singer is saying vaccines cause autism it's relevant on that singers forums. It is not in fact off topic.

I agree randomly bringing up unrelated things is annoying when it isn't that sort of thing though.

I get this, fandom is somewhere to escape for a little bit and I'm not going to say nothing can be brought up ever, but at least on the discords I'm in there's dedicated real world threads where people can discuss that and squee threads where we don't. And that works imo.

In the wild west of somewhere like tumblr I just block people who are butting in with that kind of talk because I'm not there for political stuff, that's just my shows/movies I'm into and that's it. If it's kept in politics tags that's fine, I mean people who tag their political posts with every fandom under the sun, fuck off, blocked.

A react channel I watch (Horror Bandwagon) stopped uploading for three weeks with no reasons why. It made me think about how many creators I've loved in the past that have just disappeared.

I’d never even heard of videos like this until about a week ago. Wannabe influencers have been flooding allergy spaces (mainly through bots but not always) and spamming the hell out of everyone with links to their recipes. It’s annoying as hell but also incredibly dangerous because the recipes aren’t allergy safe. It now takes an enormous effort to moderate those spaces and unfortunately when the bullshit slips through those posts gain the most attention. Meanwhile, Gina’s awesome clone of First Watch Lemon Quinoa Risotto or Dave’s classic waffles that actually taste like classic waffles but won’t kill any of us all get lost in the void.

I think part of what annoys me is the links aren’t even to their videos. They link to their blog and then the link to the video is hidden there and many times the recipe isn’t even in the video, it’s just a 30 second clip of stock footage of ingredients laid out and maybe some shots of food cooking. It’s so stupid and I can’t imagine anyone actually believing it’s worth the trouble.

I don't really like sourcing recipes from videos anyway, but if a content creator refuses to list all the ingredients and the amounts in the video, and insists you jump through an extra hoop for it (Ex: "Leave a comment and I'll send you the link!"), you and your channel are dead to me. I doubt I'm missing out on much, though.

The positive reception to Low Red Moon gives me hope for Outlaws getting some recognition.

It's not game of the year material, and does have AAA rushed issues. But it's still over hated and severely underrated, it's plenty of fun, really well made environments, and Kay and ND-5 are interesting characters to follow, especially in Pirate's Fortune.

(My 3rth most played game nearing 100 hours on steam... so I may be biased)

I doubt it thought.... And even if it did, the sequel is 100% canned. I can at least hope seeing them in other media.
