Hey, Case! I'm pretty sure my secret is in tomorrow's crop to be posted. I really like to be here when a secret of mine is posted, but I won't be able to be on F!S at all tomorrow. Is there any chance you could bump my secret to a later day? I totally understand if the answer is no. Obviously you don't want people asking you to do that for them all the time (I know I wouldn't). If you do it, I'm grateful, and if you don't, totally nbd. :)

My secret is the one that starts, "I recently got into a new, reasonably popular ship (let's call it A/B). At first I was really excited."

I finally got my hands on Final Fantasy 7 Remake via Switch 2 after a decade of wanting to play it since the announcement.

I love the gameplay and the storyline deviations. The graphics are amazing. However I hate the mission system. Side quests were already a thing, why not just keep them as those?

I don't know what it is but this "kinda realistic but still kinda cartoony" style of CGI critters looks so extremely offputting to me. I felt the same way about most of the pokemon in Detective Pikachu which pretty much everyone thought looked great. The Sonic characters are more blatantly cartoony and look fine. But that "not quite either" style just sits strongly in the middle of uncanny valley for me.

I never understood the brooding. Pretty much no vampire is 100% unkillable, so if being a blood-sucking fiend is really that much of a chore, they don't HAVE TO.....

I like vamps that just wanna drink blood and party and do shite, kinda like Spike and Dru running all over and being hipsters or punks or whatever seemed fun at the time. While also killing people. :D

WHY DID RON HAVE TO TRY OUT FOR THE QUIDDITCH TEAM THEIR 6TH YEAR, WHEN AT NO POINT HAD THERE EVER BEEN ANY MENTION OF PREVIOUS MEMBERS HAVING TO TRY OUT AGAIN/MEMBERS BEING DROPPED FROM NOT BEING THE BEST AT THEIR SECOND TRYOUT?

I thought this was ridiculous! Just thrown in to add drama. In fact, in the 5th book, Angelina said she wanted the entire team to be there for the Keeper tryouts to make sure that person meshed with the existing team members. There was ZERO mention throughout the entire 5 books that they had to do another tryout every year. I thought it was dumb!

Mutual fandom friends got me interested in watching Heated Rivalry, so I decided to and had some fun with it.

The issue is that I unfortunately ended up just not vibing with the main couple because Ilya reminds me far too much of the first few guys I dated that I ended up hating him and by extension I just wanted Shane to leave his emotionally unavailable ass out in the cold. Don't get me wrong I get that it's fiction and other queer dudes are going to enjoy the fantasy of the fuckboi actually retuning the feelings. It just didn't work for me sadly.

Discussing this outside of my mutuals has been a hilariously depressing venture because most of the, presumably, women I've interacted with have instantly accused me of being a homophobic straight woman(neither thanks!) because I can't stand Ilya, and when I have explained that I am in fact a queer dude have gotten neither an apology for their assumptions or a retraction of their accusation, instead I've been getting 2010's queer dude culture explained to me like I wasn't literally there. It's been wild.

I hate all these Inktober-inspired "1 work/prompt for each day of the month" type fic challenges. Publishing a fic a day is a really fun challenge for a writer, but what results tends to be a bunch of same-y stories that barely do anything with the concept/prompt and basically just... end, because the writer doesn't have time to write anything longer. It's worst with whump and H/C fic because those genres work so much better when the suffering is long and protracted rather "a bad thing happens on speedrun." I just really wish writers would put their time and writing challenge discipline into writing a single meaty, complex, ambitious fic rather than 30 "nothing happens" ficlets of blah.

(Nothing against the challenges depicted in the secret in particular, I just liked their prompt layouts.)
