Yes, but what would the study entail?

There could be an in fandom discussion conducted somehow. That would get some brainstorming done.
But that would only cover people who take part in fandom.
What about people who are familiar enough with fandom to be able to comment but are not directly in fandom?

I can relate to this, anon. While finishing an animation with my 'best friend', I had a horrible anxiety attack and was diagnosed with depression. She's always been emotionally abusive towards me, but one of the worst things she's ever done is to tell me I was weak and that I should get over it.

People always used to call me her 'shadow' because I never had the courage to be myself when she was around - she stopped me going out by myself, stopping me forming friendships and relationships (she used to the guys I liked that I wasn't interested in them, without me knowing. Gee, thanks.)

Seriously anon, get out while you can. I feel better every day since I got away. Trust me, your mental health will thank you for it. The comic isn't worth the pain. Trust me, I can't even watch that animation now, because it only brings back shitty memories.

I get this. Shallow sports fans are shallow irrespective of gender!

Some years, outofbeta and me make collections of sexually objectifying news articles about female players at Wimbledon. Watching the Winter Olypmic skating on US tv was also quite enlightening in this regard. When straight guys watch women's sports it's often to perv and to make sexual comments about the women who take part, and this is accepted as professional journalism. Why shouldn't women watch the World Cup just to perv all over the pretty?

True. But even still, That would be a way of saying that any kind of love between those two would have been possible, if not necessary to keep Jesus grounded, because it's all as equally human. Then again, I'm really not the best to judge what he may or may not have needed, since my Christian studies were a long time ago, and I'll be the first to admit I'm not all that invested in this. I just dropped by since I was bothered by the whole "I'm going to Hell for shipping this" part.
