Oh anon, are you me?

It's not just you, I TOTALLY thought they were brothers.

Comments with my one Moriarty icon

[personal profile] oxfordtweed 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I've not seen much in the way of other adaptations, but isn't this Moriarty supposed to be the first Moriarty who's Irish? Given that Moriarty's an Irish name and all...

The second episode does bother me, but for so many reasons. It's just weak and contrived compared to Gatiss and Moffat's episodes. Sherlock figured out that the tenant would be connected to the case because they didn't pick up their phone book from the front step? What? And everybody just happened to live and work in buildings with conveniently-placed terraces.

Furries do this to each other all the time.

...or so I've been told. >.>

As someone who caught 'the olds' this is the first symptom. Damn young people and their technologyshitfuck GET OFF MY LAWN!

[identity profile] mspotamus.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess they mean the fans who also enjoy porn within the respective fandoms?

[identity profile] checkerblob.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*but don't ship

(Anonymous) 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
The first time? Dang.

I don't dislike Amy but I feel sort of similarly. I like her, but not too much more beyond that. I want to really love her the way I'm used to really loving companions, but it didn't really happen for me in s5. I still feel like I don't really "get" Amy Pond and anything I do "get" is just conjecture and not necessarily what's actually meant to be there on screen. I guess some people like that freedom, but it just makes me kind of flail helplessly when it comes to interpreting a character.

[identity profile] citroneuse.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
What the fuck.

How the hell can some people see a tragedy and then immediately think 'OMG ENGLAND/JAPAN HEALING COCK!!!!'.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that, and I hope your family and friends are safe!

EVERYTHING MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW.

[identity profile] shortcrust.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for this, anon. ♥

[identity profile] oflittlebrain.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU ARE HELLA CREEPY oh man.

[identity profile] pimmy.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, I used to like Luna but she's been so overhyped by the fandom I'm finding it hard to care.

Though, that's probably because I love Celestia and people tend to villainize her for Luna's sake.

[identity profile] theditz.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
*bashes head against wall* I'm sorry OP, those people are scum. Tell them how insensitive they are and don't be afraid to hurt their feelings, they need to understand why doing that is wrong.

[identity profile] damnated.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow... that's really freaking stupid of them.

[identity profile] sugarsurge.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Tumblr is for pretty pictures and that's about it, IMO. It's kind of like how you don't go to Twitter for witty and intelligent debate.

[identity profile] omorka.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hard-to-read secret is hard-to-read, but: I made the mistake of watching the anime first, and then reading the manga, and I was so sad that Mei-Lin wasn't in the manga, because then I had no one to ship Tomoyo with. (Yeah, I know, that comes across as pair-the-spares, but they really do have things in common other than loving Syaoran/Sakura from afar and being slightly creepy and stalkerish sometimes.)
oxfordtweed: (Sherlock - Hi...!)

[personal profile] oxfordtweed 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I could go on for days about the second episode. Every time I watch it, it just gets worse.

[identity profile] lovestyle.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
This is why I don't consider myself a part of the fandom, despite enjoying the show and characters. There is a right and a wrong time for everything, and like 99.9% of them are crazy fangirls with no concept of social clues or reality. I cannot deal.

I'm sorry, OP. That's horrible. Their thoughts should be with YOU and Japan's wellbeing, not with whatever goofy little fantasies they can dream up over tragedies occurring to real people.
ext_562883: (real men)

[identity profile] ssjumi.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Part of me has full empathy for you, since I would've most likely done sth pretty similar, if I have had the opportunity at the right time.

The other part of me agrees to the "omg!stalker!!" thingie, though.

But hey, you found a new fandom you like, so yay, who knows where that might lead in the future leads ;)

[identity profile] ariseishirou.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's anything with gears, airships, flight goggles, and waistcoats, it seems.

I wonder if the steampunk genre isn't so shallow because the "canon" so to speak - The Difference Engine - was so uninspired and awful.
ext_19953: (introduce a little anarchy)

[identity profile] mutantjules.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
ehhh. I know he can be offensive as fuck and I still like him.

(Anonymous) 2011-03-17 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Keep your Hetalia filth out of this site.

[identity profile] lljscrawls.livejournal.com 2011-03-17 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, there's no difference in other game stores selling used games and Gamestop selling used games. :) I wasn't trying to say that at all. Gamestop is just the first that came to mind because it's "eaten," so to speak, so many other game stores that I was familiar with from my childhood: EB Games, FuncoLand, Babbages, Game Crazy, etc. They all either went out of business or were absorbed by Gamestop, and since Gamestop is now the major store in my area, that's the first one that came to mind.

Reading the rest of your message, though, I'm unsure whether you're just angry about me singling out Gamestop or if you're angry that I brought up used games in general. If it's the latter, then I'm sorry -- but it IS an issue. If you want, I can claw through the internet to find the article I read a couple weeks ago in which a video game developer lamented both piracy and used games, admitting that while he saw the benefit in used games, it was still hurting the industry. Yes, it's going to happen everywhere -- in Gamestop, in other small game stores until Gamestop eats them, on the internet, etc. -- but it still hurts.

And Hell, I'm not telling people not to buy used games, you know. I was merely pointing out that this DOES hurt the industry, and that piracy is therefore adding insult to injury by just making the problem worse.

As long as you realise that the attitudes portrayed in the songs shouldn't be applied to real life, I don't see the harm. Hell, according to my university paperwork I'm technically disabled, and yet I listen to Evelyn Evelyn. And I adore murder ballads of any type, but I have yet to actually murder anyone. (Actually my anger management improved significantly when I started listening to violent music. Wonder if that means anything ...)
