I love tumblr, but I don't understand how people use it as a substitute for places like LJ re; socializing with fandom friends and I'll never get why some people there take it so personally when they, say, get unfollowed.

but the point is that the Bechdel Test is meaningless in relation to one show. It's only meaningful because taken as a series of data points (aka comparisons of numerous shows/books/movies whatever) it can be a useful tool for illuminating the lack of main female characters overall.

That doesn't mean one show that fails is sexist, wrong, or that people who like it are sexist.

This is how I want to date too. Frankly, I often get irritated, since people seem to forget that there are 7 intelligences, and I don't discount a single one. While I think you have to have some things in common, like values, I feel like you have to be able to find your partner interesting.

That's awful, OP. Your disgust is perfectly understandable, I'm utterly disgusted, too, and I'm disgusted with every single horrible thing that people have said about this, though none of them push my rage buttons quite like the various Americans saying we shouldn't care about this "because of Pearl Harbor".

I've been trying as hard as I can to focus on the good things, like all of the people raising money for charities for this, the cranes project that one of the Hetalia fan communities did, etc, myself.

Oh, I'm not going to disagree with this. I think the actors and actresses definitely add a ton to the development by adding on whatever's not there in the writing, or what they feel from reading it-should be there.

It's what I always do. Since RPGs are my main interest, and they usually don't have one at launch and not a good one for a year or two after that, I'm never in a hurry. And by then, I know if the console is any good because half of my friends own one.
