I have always had a habit of trying to like a game for the story it tells and the worlds you explore. Bioware was the first game that really scratched that particular itch. Mass Effect was great to the point where I forgot to eat. Then 2 came along and I found that I suddenly didn't need to sleep, the characters were just so interesting and awesome despite various...issues.

I dragged Mordin everywhere(poor old guy) and I never left the ship without Tali( or Garrus. Then I found Legion on the derelict Reaper and started a whole new playthrough to get him early. I have never logged so many hours on one game before. It may be because I'm such a noob, but I don't regret it.

Yeah it would be treated differently. Frankly the stereotype, for good or ill, is that girls are obsessed with boys and boys are obsessed with sex. Therefore, girl doormat/passivity to boys is as expected as boy disinterest/asshattery to girls. Not only is this the stereotype, but this is played out over and over and over again on tv. So the leeway of actions is quite different when the opposite of the stereotype is true, simply because a lot of people want to encourage girls who don't focus on boys, and boys who are more understanding to their girlfriends and also it seems innovative on TV. This is the world you live in OP.

Not to sound like a bitch, but I'm sick of people calling me mentally ill for being suicidal. I'm mentally very stable. I have very rational reasons for not wanting to live anymore, and I'm only not doing it because I don't want to hurt my family.

So, yeah, not saying this is true for everyone ... but this suicidal = mentally ill attitude really pisses ME off. Not everyone kills themselves because they're unstable, in a weird state of mind, or whatever else you wanna call it.

You and me, OP :/ It's such a good series, with interesting characters, plot, the 69485794 references to the previous series AND THAT MOTHERFUCKING MUSIC (<- what i like the most about this series)... honestly, it's so fucking IRRITATING when people can't think beyond who's more worthy of ~winning the guy~ *rolls eyes* especially when the girls didn't hate each other at all!!! ._.

I don't remember many crossovers in my daydreams, though. Uh, one thing I liked to daydream about was watching a movie or show with a character from another fandom. SLIGHTLY DORKY, I know.

I love road trips and I love driving. I don't see it as boring :> Sure, it can get repetitive, but that's why it's fun to try different roads. I could drive a couple of hours per day, minimum, and I still wouldn't get bored because I know how to make it fun for myself. Plus, when you have someone close with you in the car, the fun gets doubled.

Not saying driving long distances is for everyone. Just saying that there are people who can and do enjoy it.

god, I hate that cliché. So many brilliant people are not socially inept at all, but very eloquent, charming, and amazingly good at manipulating people, wrapping them around their little finger etc. Or, yknow, they're just really nice, socially normal people whose general social behaviour is not one bit different from averagely intelligent people. Can we please stop with the "most gifted people are socially inept" bullshit? Some are. Maybe even many. But most? Really?

Welp, to be quite frank, the only reason I make comments along those line is because the majority of secrets related to Megamind are discussing that aspect of the fandom. If someone made a secret about anything other than the Megamind fandom's sexual habits, I'd respond with my opinion on that.

I'm involved in Megamind fandom [outside of the main LJ comm], so yeah, I'm going to comment on the secrets when I see them. If the secrets are all about similar things, yeah, the comments I make are probably going to be similar.

It's okay. And I'm sorry if I sound snippish, I just don't get the defensiveness. If people don't like the fact that I dislike aspects of the fandom and don't care to hide my opinion when it's brought up [which is frequently]... they can scroll on by? I'm hardly mean about it, and if I have acted mean to any individual it certainly wasn't intentional.

It can be problematic (it reinforces the separation of female gamers as "different"), but I have trouble criticizing it when it's often a reaction to female gamers being reduced to their gender/looks (which is why some women choose not to let on when they're female when playing online in the first place):

"Dudebro" male gamers who make misogynistic comments about women playing games ("Tits for GTFO", "Get back in the kitchen") ->
"Gamer Girl" types who try to gain acceptance by adopting their own variation of "dudebro" behavior ("Halo/FPSs/etc. are the only REAL games and girls who play anything else aren't REAL gamers, and PSSSH why are you offended by being sexually harassed for playing online as a girl YOU NEED THICKER SKIN.")
