Same here. If someone is triggered by merely seeing the word with no actual discussion of the topic, surely they would be triggered by the warning itself. (Thus making the warning pointless.)

I don't think any of them have a ice cube's chance in hell of actually happening. It's just another mode of fiction that I find interesting, and sometimes it can be kinda fun to get wrapped up in the fantasy with things like The Zombie Survival Guide or something.

The reason I can't ship them is not because of "sexual assault" (holy crap people, he's just a frustrated and confused character who impulsively acted out his feelings) but because of how badly he bullied Kurt. I'm all for friend or mentor!Kurt, but I frankly don't see a romantic relationship becoming canon.

I do agree that people should get off the backs of Kurtofsky shippers; they're nowhere near as bad as some other ships out there. If kink-shaming is not okay (please don't start a debate about this), why should ship-shaming be?

And yeah, I agree on the crying, and the way he reacts to some things just bugs me. Like how he reacted when his dad didn't have a double standard - no girls in Finn's bed, no boys in Kurt's bed. How this doesn't make sense is beyond me, especially when he should have asked to have a friend over regardless of gender. What was his dad supposed to think?

(Rachel amuses me, but she's definitely not a favorite. The only thing I can say for her is at least she's unabashedly herself...? Not always a good thing but there it is. xD)

I know how you feel OP. I used to be terrified of driving to the point where my entire body would be tense the entire time I drove. I'd freak out whenever I saw a truck on the opposite side of the road. And I wouldn't even think of driving in the city!

But after driving for over a year, it became second nature to me. Now I drive to university every day and I barely even need to think about it anymore. You'll get over your fear soon enough. Driving's a pretty scary thing, but once you do it often, it becomes as easy as riding a bike.

this is funny to me, because kurt wasn't even originally a glee character. he was created specifically for chris colfer.

it most definitely was sexual assault. he'd been physically/verbally abusing kurt for a long time, and he took it to the next level with that kiss.

Personally its one of my favourite GC songs and I think it has a lot of meaning and the video is one that always has me in tears. I dont care what anymore says I will always love Good Charlotte, I have since I heard their first single, Ive been to many live shows and Im never let down by these guys. its a great song, Im glad it touches and helps people out there

Even so, RM has flat-out said that he bases Kurt's stories on his own life, except he writes them "how [he] wishes they had gone," and has also said that he especially cares for Kurt and the Kurt/Blaine pairing within the show (i.e., more than other characters/storylines). I guess that's his right as the writer/creator/showrunner, but I find it a little cringey, especially because I feel like Kurt is deified and made out to be a flawless martyr rather than a well-rounded, imperfect character a lot of the time. I LOVE Chris to death and think he's way talented, but he deserves better writing.

That's...probably because it's awful hard for people to drum up sympathy for someone who wants to have sex with children. Even if you have a character who is horrified and ashamed of their attraction and does not act on it, the audience reaction you're most likely to get is "good, they should be" rather than genuine sympathy anyway. Writers don't want to touch that bullet ant nest with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole, and I can't say I blame them.

I understand people have different tastes, but I don't understand why people can't see if someone is conventionally attractive or not.

For example, I've never found Brad Pitt attractive. Not in the 90s, not now. But I'm not blind - I can see that he fits into society's standards as conventionally attractive.

Yeah, I have to agree. If it's a graphic description or image, that's one thing, but if a person is triggered by a word that could potentially pop up anywhere in life, that's not just a reasonable thing to avoid, that's a problem and it's clearly controlling their life to an unreasonable degree. I feel like people in those cases really owe it to themselves to try to work past that in some way, because you can't live life like that. ...But I guess that's not really relevant to warnings on here, so better safe than sorry, I guess. :P

Attraction to high school first years is ephebophilia, attraction to late-adolescent teenagers. Pedophilia is attraction to prepubescent children. Ephebophilia is still squicky, but of the three (the other is hebephilia, attraction to young but pubescent teens) it's the least squicky.

The only one that bugged me was Mercedes' "no weave".
WTF! Not only is that horribly stereotypical, but when has she ever shown dismay over her hair? We've seen Mercedes show self-consciousness over plenty of flaws, but her hair ain't one of them.

I admit I love him & Tim together because their BFFship is adorable, but I think I would positively cry with happiness if he worked with Quentin. Johnny doing his dialogue would just kill me with amazeballery. (And if it helps, we're FINALLY getting The Rum Diary this fall, and that's definitely not Burton-y. ;))

I love his voice because it's so delightfully sarcastic.

And I can't help but love him for his Resident Evil videos. He points out so many faults in those movies that I never would have noticed (I'm not the most perceptive person in the world).
And his acting as Barry in those videos is so fucking spot on. It's great :D
