I wonder how many people would agree if Yuri wasn't a pretty boy with an angsty past.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
It makes no sense to try and shelter people (like me) who are against abortion

Stopped reading there.

Being pro-life triggers me. Fuck-off.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
It won't. Slow paced animes never have a big fandom, not matter how much ho-yay (or les-yay) they have.

[identity profile] santagrover.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
don't let it get to you, anon ):

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Where did I ever say that this is a whole new concept?

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
I actually don't mind her new personality too much, but her voice irritates the fuck out of me for some reason.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you're a troll, that explains the jerk part. Still have no clue how any of this ties into anime.

[identity profile] flipthefrog.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. This is a difficult decision to come to, and having a support network, whether it's your family, your therapist, or even your pet cat, helps people get through tough times like these. You'll make it through this and come out stronger on the other side.

[identity profile] orijinaru.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely true, OP. If the main characters were men then there would be fanfic about them for years. But since they're actually female no one cares. It's kinda ironic since there's all this outcry for strong female characters yet nobody pays any attention to them. :/

[identity profile] kindlycoyote.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, personally I think a citizen going around stopping crime is a good thing if they have the means and don't ruin cases. In Batman's case, he is a billionaire genius and not operating in our world, so he gets a pass.

There was actually a article I read about real-life vigilante super-heroes (martial arts trained) people in one city. They didn't go out of their way to find stuff, their martial arts were focused on disabling and they used pepper spray instead of guns. I think this is a good thing as it is one more person keeping people safe. If they overstepped their bounds, I would say that is a bad thing, but not vigilantism as a whole.

Hell, police step out of bounds a hella lot and I still see them as a good thing.

My own philosophy is 'as long as you are doing more good than bad, and not doing something permanent (aka killing someone, which if you were wrong about the situation means you took a innocent life, and even at the best you have taken the choice to become good from that person. There are a lot of examples of people doing horrible things in their youth only to turn around and become saints... so that is why I lean on the 'no kill' side).

that is one of my favorite paintings of all time, just saying.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
You keep on telling yourself that.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's why this is a secret... it's embarrassing that I'm still not over it when everyone else is. >.>

[identity profile] shukivengeance.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
How very one-sided. It really sounds like you need to talk to this person about it before the resentment builds up to a level that irreparably damages your friendship.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that's true... probably also depends on what is "normal" and/or standard.
I concider myself relatively normal and would gladly stay with my bf/gf in bed, chill and watch TV ;)
probably not as often as you do (???), but if two people start a relationship, there should be a level of acceptance and understanding of the each other before they enter it.

I like differences- I think both parties can profit from it, but I guess the partner has to be open for our weirdnesses/normality.

You Rock :D!!

[identity profile] timbeon.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Her new design looks better when it's animated and grouped with other characters drawn in the same style, but I do vastly prefer her original look.

Original!Lola definitely had some problems (the token chick -ism is so bad it almost hurts), but turning her into another love-obsessed neurotic girlfriend -type pretty much just feels like substituting one harmful portrayal of women for another.

Basil is my #1 Sherlock, followed by RDJ.

[identity profile] shukivengeance.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
I had one 7 years ago and I understand how you feel. It's one of the most difficult decisions you can ever make but that doesn't mean it can't be the right thing.

Even though you don't know me anon, feel free to inbox me if you want someone to talk to about it.

My first boyfriend called anime "robot porn" and generally looked down on it, though he knew I liked it. I developed kind of a complex about it and hid all my fansubs in my closet or whatever. I sort of understand

At the same time, even if someone you love doesn't share an interest of yours, they should be respectful about it if they really love you. So I think you should let him know.

[identity profile] otakugal15.livejournal.com 2012-01-16 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Considering that the anime version of Kotone rather eagerly ships my favorite Ash pair (ash/dawn)?

She won my heart.

Plus...I never played Crystal. Crystal came out after I hit my "pokemon is dumb" phase. So I don't have the nostalgia for Crys. *shrug*

My Japanese professor made us sing that song. So class sing-a-longs happened but they didn't sound very good...

Don't worry OP you don't have to be a good singer to have fun doing it.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
It would probably be more popular.
And I probably would not have watched it.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-16 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
That is interesting. There's so many people bitching about strong female characters but they never write fic or anything about them

wtf

If you're hiding something that small & insignificant, that relationship won't last.
