Oh God!

You're right the new design is ugly as hell! :(

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
No, you are not alone. :)

[identity profile] bamboo.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
lol you and me both. I'm starting to blend my vampire canons. XD

OP

Never got past the first few episodes of Death Note, but before he went power crazy, yes I liked him (can't really love him when I barely know anything about him). Come to think of it, Light killed criminals in a more merciful way than Lunatic/Yuri does.

[identity profile] mskye.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought that was Snooki at first. Whoopsie!

[identity profile] making-excuses.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, oh Dhampirs, which one was that again?

Also is this the books where the main female character was in love with her trainer/teacher (?) and she went around protecting this full blood (?) vampire because it was her duty because her family had done it for generations? Or something?

I really need to read the books again...

Eh, I liked the stories of SH I've read, and I still prefer Wishbone!Sherlock or Basil!Sherlock. But I enjoy the movies tremendously because I go to the movies to be entertained and I find RDJ & JL extremely entertaining.

[identity profile] making-excuses.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
You are not alone! Seriously I need to either reread the books or just stop talking about it, because seriously I can't remember half of it anymore, but then again...

[identity profile] mskye.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell your boyfriend, at least! If he loves you then he won't reject you for liking cartoons.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes! And the power to decide who lives or dies should be in the hands of one vigilante with huge issues on his own!

How could this ever go wrong?

On the one had, this horse died a loooooooong time ago and we really don't need to revive it again.

On the other... I agree. I tried to like Kotone/Lyra, I really did, but I just like everything about Kris's design so much more.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
this.
the bbc-series may have better crime-stories, but they cannot beat the awesome actors of the movies. Not just RDJ and Jude Law, I mean EVERYONE.
got_swagger: (TVD: Elena & Vamps - Elena in Charge)

[personal profile] got_swagger 2012-01-15 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I ♥ Elena.

Of course I just watch the show and I'm not into the fandom, so I have no idea about the hate she gets. It doesn't surprise me though, knowing how fandom in general is.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. Been an avid reader of the books for years. Started to re-read the adventures and thought that the film version is very faithful to the canon than most would give credit for versus the television series.

This is coming from someone that appreciates both the film and television series as a whole.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd watch it in a second if they dressed in something besides mini skirts and midriffs.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been reading the books lately, and I find I like RDJ's version. He's not a pure, complete asshole the way Cumberbatch is. Canon!Sherlock is condescending and a little self-absorbed, but he doesn't feel like an utter asshole. He's not perfect, but I vastly prefer him.

I don't have qualms with either Watson's personality, though. I just find it a little funny that someone who's "tanned and thin" from Afghanistan would be a little, erm, Martin Freeman-esque. I love Martin Freeman, but I would never use "thin" to describe him.

[identity profile] ansley15.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck, anon! You're going to be okay, I promise <3 I applaud you for your courage.

[identity profile] dana-norram.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
This secret made me realize I'm in serious need of a Cage icon. D:

Now, I really love all of his movies. I think I couldn't choose between Lord of War and National Treasure even if my life depended on that, so. :)

[identity profile] kanjo-girl.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Not as much hate as Bonnie has always gotten, sorry. But I don't hate on Elena. She does a few things that are a bit questionable, but I'm not about to post a rant about her on tumblr.

I focus on Bonnie too much to care otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The show's pretty dated, so it's no surprise the fandom's not very big or active, even if all four of them were men.

Also, on the contrary, I wouldn't have touched Noir had the main characters been men unless I was still in my rabid yaoi fangirl phase.

[identity profile] atheist-cheese.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
You have point about RDJs Sherlock. The thing that annoyed me a little about him is how completely over the top he is in terms of eccentricities and mannerisms.

I don't think recent Watsons have been done badly, but for some reason I always find like there's something missing in them.

To get all superficial here, one thing that endeared me to Sherlock BBC was they were actually relatively young. Sherlocks tend to be made so old in all adaptations. RDJ really isn't as bad as some when it comes to how old people cast Sherlock, but I do prefer the BBC for that.

[identity profile] fivil.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure it's Kirk Acevedo, who I didn't actually know is married - but I googled it and the lady he's married to does look like the woman in the picture: http://www.zimbio.com/photos/Kiersten+Warren/Australians+Films+2009+Breakthrough+Awards/W2da5JiN3rB

She played his character's wife on an episode of Fringe, incidentally.

Anybody who knows better feel free to correct me, I may just be seeing Kirk Acevedo everywhere because that's how I roll.

[identity profile] bamboo.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Rose (the main character), in love with her trainer/teacher (Dmitri), protecting the full blood vampire princess (Lissa), because halfbloods are either bodyguards for the fullbloods or kinda useless outcasts. Her dad's like part of a mafia, and her mom's a really kickass dhampir. And her bff's the last member of her family, although not really according to the last book. It kind of got predictable in the long run and I think the ~long lost relative~ angle was introduced so the author can write a spinoff because the series is coming to an end.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I know it's the cover, just was wondering about the model :P Do you know her name? Cause for serious, it looks like they just took a pic of Angie and gave her a different nose.
