I don't normally listen to pop music, it generally bores me because it all sounds pretty much alike to me, or at least repetitive... but Christina Aguilera managed to make me like both "Fighter" and "Beautiful". Really weird.

As for weird things no one has ever heard of, I have actually followed Richard Shindell across the state to see multiple concerts within a week because I adore him so much. No one seems to have ever heard of him unless I pushed some MP3s of his at them myself. It's not fair. This man's lyrics and guitar expertise are so great he should be filling stadiums (though he probably prefers the free concerts at libraries and small concerts at coffeehouses). ;_;

As I said, I have no passionate opinion one way or another, but we've been given very little so far and it's not much to go on.

I'm not sure what's going on with this Loki either because like you, I never read JiM. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I realise there's a great deal of petulance in my OP. Venting rage in an unattractive way.

Thing is, I really don't think that talking about it straight out is going to accomplish anything. They feel very strongly that I'm wrong, and I feel just as strongly that they're wrong, and we should all surely be able to rub along by just not having the conversations.

So I don't have the conversations. I avoid the issues. I make nice. I change the topic as noncommittally as I can. They don't. Tbh, I don't think it's that they're just missing the cues.

I think we should stop assuming that we know OP better than OP does.

Which is why I said to talk to them in person. I don't think the op is exactly obligated to return the person's kindness, though it would be very nice, but I just feel like if they really want to, it'll be better to drop a them a personal line than to go into a toxic environment where they run the very real risk of having their kind comment backfire.

Between Ariel and Pocahontas, I was furious every time my mother made me cut my hair. My hair will sometimes do Disney stuff like that naturally and when it was nice and long that was a fucking awesome thing to have dangling from my scalp. I fought argued against the haircuts every time I was dragged to the barber.

Ironically, once my mom stopped trying to make me cut my hair, I preferred it short. My hair is really long, now, for the first time in years, and being able to do Disney Princess hair tricks and styles again is fucking awesome. :D (Not to mention I get to easily do a lot of other fancy styles from other places - Katara!hair FTW!)

Half a York Peppermint Patty. Trying to figure out if I was able to eat anything more, so I figured I'd better start with something that soothes the stomach. And yeah, now that I think about it, it seems like I mainly use we when I'm trying to get myself back on track, to stop doing something (like singing obnoxiously) or start doing something else. So that "two minds" makes sense to me too.
