Ugh, yeah, I know what you mean, then. It's definitely counterintuitive in that case. (I'm a linkprovider, too!)

As long as the conversation doesn't get to long you should be safe from people thinking you're weird.

Otherwise they'll start asking things like, "Who are you talking to?", "Do you need to tell me something?", and "Are you okay?"

But yeah, it's really good to know I'm not the only one who has quirks.

There is no escape.

*hugs*

My situation by far isn't as bad as yours but I've been struggling with depression since the end of school and it was so incredibly hard to get of my ass afterwards and send out applications etc. Sometimes I'm still not sure if I'm going to be able to handle the mental pressure from my chosen field (nurse) and all the stress.

Hang in there and just take one step after the other. It does get better.

The problem is that some people get completely distorted ideas on what actually is healthy. I've seen people arguing that sleep apnea is nothing to worry about and they are completely healthy even if they have to use a breathing device.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT

Oh, I agree they need to actually do something about it. It's just, from some of the comments I get the feeling the commenters want MORE agonizing AND more having-already-stepped-up, and nothing else is good enough.

I also suspect there's about a ton of projecting going on.

Re: Cable sucks

(Anonymous) 2013-02-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Huh

So I'm googling it in Australia and apparently we do have it but it's a service you got to pay for and have installed but not very common and only present in some parts of major cities.

might be why I've never heard of it. I've mostly lived rural I've only ever used free to tv stations which just means plugging a tv into a power outlett and maybe attaching an antenna if i can't get recetption (antenna cable involved but never needed to hire anyone lol). All houses come with an antenna and satellite is the default for australia. i don't know anyone who uses 'cable tv'

I do know what a squirrel is :P

She appears in a six-part comic called Vengeance, which is by Joe Casey. I was honestly not crazy about it, but I read it because she was in it. Very, very little is explained about her in it though. We know nothing about the origin of her powers, her family background, etc. She's part of a team called the Teen Brigade and the comic is very scant on details. But hey, I guess that means YA gets to fill in the blanks.

Yeah, I agree. I think that when you have a character with reality altering powers, there's a good chance bad decisions are going to happen (and their bad decisions cause far more damage than those of most others).

I have the same issue in regards to it looking like I haven't done much, but part of the issue is when I do start getting busy is when I'm likely to snap. It's what brought me to my low point last year.

I can't really put on my resume "well I took time off that semester because I couldn't leave bed and was contemplating killing myself every day."

I'm glad you found a therapist though, I've had difficulties in that area.

Anon, to be quite frank it sounds as if you're just denying that you're having a problem. Even if you snap out of it, there is always the chance that it'll come back again. I'm sure you're gonna rock school and your future because you just seem like the kind of person but maybe a little help along the way would be a good thing too.

True. But tactics to prevent rape and trying to do something about the fucked-up response we have to victims are not mutually exclusive.

If the only thing keeping you in that relationship is the health insurance you should probaly break it of.

I agree that being TOO fat is bad, but I think the Health at Every Size people are probably a reaction to the kind of people who pretend to be concerned about someone's health when they just want to make fun of someone for being overweight.

I'm overweight, but not extremely so. Random adults on the street have yelled insults at me for being fat, but I can climb stairs, walk for miles without feeling winded or achy, do all sorts of active things, and am have no major health problems compared to a lot of people I know. So I feel like people's objections, in my case, are purely aesthetic, but some of them would still likely go on about how they need to point out my unhealthiness through obnoxious mocking/shaming if I told them that.

It's unfortunate because you're perpetuating the idea that women are never supposed to act angry even if they've got the best reasons in the world.

I wasn't looking for hipster cred, and I'm sorry if that seemed like the case! I just don't really know of anyone IRL who knows that song, and that's more how I judge if something is weird/obscure then looking at the charts? Because even if it's really high on the charts, if no one in my RL listens to it, it still feels weird/obscure to me. ^^;

I had a similar problem a few years ago. It turned out that it was the result of being deeply unhappy in a relationship and being reminded of that by casual sex.

So glad I wasn't the only one.

As a kid, I was insanely jealous of her hair and wanted to dye it black and grow it out just so it could be like hers.
