The scene with him in front of the mirror trying that on himself cracks me up even now. Even with all the tension if he fails, it's just so inherently funny.

They're 'just mentioning' a pair that has zero interaction and the films so there's no precedent for it. It just being mentioned means that there's no buildup to it and we're just supposed to believe it somehow happened (which we don't see how because it's not the focus of the story). That can be pretty frustrating from the POV of the reader.

... I'd agree with that, actually. Which I'm slightly surprised about, to be honest. I hadn't realised that if I had to pick between the three, I'd go for Bedknobs and Broomsticks every time.

I loled because I have the exact same reaction to Steve/Tony, and your screenshot just highlights how much "worse" that ship is in that regard. The amount of fic that has both C/C and S/T is ridiculous.

BBCAmerica is also the network that airs Star Trek: The Next Generation. Why? Perhaps they think Patrick Stewart is British enough to gloss over the fact that it's an American show. So, what are you going to do?

Pssssh. Tony/Loki have some awesome banter/interaction in The Avengers.

Not really. Clint had that cameo in Thor where he was just like "I don't know, I'm starting to root for this guy" to Coulson, and the ship exploded from there. It was big even before Avengers came out.

The two do interact in the comics, but until recently (like, February) it was minimal. Keep in mind that Coulson is actually a character created for MCU that they added to the comics later on, so all of his comic appearances are very recent. Also his comic characterization is... quite different.

Tony/Loki arguably had a fair bit of build-up in Avengers, between their scene together and the way their similarities were built up in the Steve&Tony scenes. Not a lot, really, but at least more than Clint/Coulson, which just sort of ... happened.

I don't ship Steve/Tony at all and in fact I really dislike it.

But at least the two have a known relationship (friends-ish by the end of the movie) and a fair amount of interaction. Plus in the comics they're very close. I don't think it's near on the same level of "why" as C/C.
