Do you know what I saw on Tumblr?

The SJWs were less offended by Theon's sexual assault and castration and more bothered by the fact that the women who raped him were naked and thus objectified by male viewers.

Oh for FFS, no-one's saying that the female characters in the scene have it worse than Theon. It's possible to feel horrible for Theon and despise Ramsay's female accomplices as characters and think that it's gross that the screenwriters/directors have yet again decided to put in naked actresses, presumably at least in part to titillate male viewers.

Yeah, the actor playing Theon is not really being tortured. The actresses, however, are really naked.

Now, whether or not it's exploitative is whole other debate. But take this into consideration: Natalia Tena (Osha) wanted to wear a merkin for her nude scenes because she felt it wouldn't make sense for her character to be clean-shaven. But the show-makers vetoed it.

'Rape' against men is so insignificant an issue. It's like what, one in a thousand (Not a real statistic, just making the point that it's not a widespread issue, dont get on to me about my faulty numbers). It's a statistical, anomaly and can therefore be ignored to some degree.

Women being abused by media, reduced to nothing but objects for the gratification of male viewers, IS a significant issue and needs to be called out and fought against where ever we find it.

I'm not saying both of these situations are not problems, both these things need to go away; But one of these is a real ever present problem for modern feminists, the other is, to be perfectly blunt, a small case of men getting a taste of their own horrible medicine.

The numbers were not meant to be taken literally, I was just making the point that it's not a significant number. The actual numbers, as provided above, are 10%, so it sort of backs up my point.

A lot of the abuse that is perpetrated against males occurs when they are children. They're not members of an oppressive patriarchal hegemony; they're fucking children. It doesn't alleviate women's suffering, it doesn't fix anything. These are children who have been raped, molested, violated, trafficked, abused and wronged. They didn't deserve it. And the adult men? They didn't deserve it either. No one deserves it. Don't think two wrongs can make a right.

Since the vast majority of rape against adult men is perpetrated by, you guessed it, other men, and the vast majority of female-on-male rape is perpetrated by adult women on male children and adolescents, male rape still falls under the all-encompassing problem of patriarchy - and strict social hierarchies in general - and how it harms all people who have had their power compromised and are punished for it instead of protected. Where do you think adult male bigots learned everything they thought they needed to know about empathy? From their own "horrible medicine", often when vulnerable (as children, in prison, in institutions, in war, while homeless, etc).

Oh, and it's a statistical anomaly for women to become pregnant from rape, too. I'd like to see you tell women who've suffered that anomaly that it can "be ignored to some degree".
