1. My favorite episode is "A Story About You." I love, love, love how creepy it is. That last scene where it just cuts off gives me chills every time. And it is interesting to see Night Vale from an outsiders point of view, especially one who came from the outside.

2. My favorite characters (other than Cecil and Carlos) are the Sheriff's Secret Police. I just love how incompetent they sound and how they dress (short cape, blowdart chestbelt and tight leather balaclava). My second favorite is Khoshekh the cat. Because cats are awesome, especially floating ones whose meow is terrifying. :D

3. Favorite topic Cecil talks about? The missing interns. I love how non-chalant they are about it. And how often it happens. xD

4. My favorite quote is, “Whisper a dangerous secret to someone you care about. Now they have the power to destroy you, but they won’t. This is what love is.”

One of my favorite parts of the fandom is all the weird fanfic stuff. Tentacles, wings, and inhuman traits abound. :3 It isn't for every one, but it does make me happy. I do wish there were more serious fics. There is plenty of horror in the podcast, but there have been very little fics talking about this. I would also love more hurt/comfort fics (it is a favorite of mine), concerning things like re-education.

I don't really have a headcanon Cecil. All the tumblr variations are awesome. I love the idea of the moving tattoos that can turn into tentacles. Not much for wings, but I think that is because of the so much crappy SPN wingfic. Hrm. That is all I can think of off the top of my head.

I love "A Memory of Europe". And as a big Cecil/Carlos shipper, "Fist Date"... the image of Cecil and Carlos walking arm-in-arm through the park while other Night Valians are running in terror... (-:

I have a fairly specific head-canon for Cecil's appearance, partially because I'm writing fanfic, so I need to have an idea in my head when I want to describe him. (-:

I'm the same with Cecil's appearance and I feel the same about the tattoos vs. wings thing.

I genuinely like it when Cecil's manifestations don't make him very powerful. I prefer him around human power level.

1. My favorite episode: Either "A Memory of Europe" or "First Date".

2. My favorite characters (other than Cecil and Carlos): Dana the Intern (or her double), who's stuck in the Dog Park.

3. Favorite topic Cecil talks about: Anything that gets him excited or upset/annoyed; like mooning over Carlos or getting pissed off at the Apache Tracker. I love the low-key, deadpan delivery, but it's nice when he gets emotional about things, too.

4. My favorite quote: "If you love someone set them free. Set them free now. This is the police, and we have you surrounded."

I've been following Night Vale Headcanons. I only just finished Episode 20 earlier today (15 episodes yesterday, if you count both parts of Sandstorm, good gods), and I'm pretty sure I'm hooked. I'm spoiled to hell and back on everything, but I don't care because it is wonderful anyway.

Reaaally want to hear more about Desert Bluffs, though. Night Vale is creepy-charming, which is fantastic, but Desert Bluffs is straight out creepy with a Stepford Smiler veneer and it's intriguing.

And yes, Desert Bluffs. When Part 2 of Sandstorm came up, I was like ehhhh. Then it just kept getting better. Like how Kevin thought a hug was an attack. And how the Night Vale radio station was oddly free from gore. WHAT IS DESERT BLUFF?

I read someone's headcanon that said that Night Vale is a dangerous town with normal people. And Desert Bluffs is a normal town with dangerous people.

Oh! I guess I could add, out of the characters, I've found Carlos the most boring? He seems to mostly have one thing he does and...yeah. I'm just more curious about the rest/the stuff they've gotten into. -shrugs-

1. I think Poetry Week. I liked the Faceless Old Woman one and the summer reading program too. And the whispering woods. And A Story about You.

2. Cecil, Dana, Faceless Old Woman.

3. I love it every time he reminds us of the Apache Tracker's racism and jerkitude. Actually I think I love all the updates about recurring characters.

4. Uhhh I can't remember any right now I liked the Target ad.

1. All of theeeeeeemmmm. I did really like the two-parter, episode 19. But really, I like all of them.

2. Saying Cecil is cheating so... I really like Dana the Intern and Tamika Flynn.

3. Carlos? That's cheap. Um, I like it whenever he impersonates someone else talking. But that's not a topic. I like it whenever he talks about something he shouldn't be talking about and he gets warnings.

I really want to join this fandom, but can someone actually give me a description of what it's about? There's no wiki, no decent summary, and I'm not about to jump into it just to find out if I should jump into it. :/

Anybody have a better way of describing it than "weird"?

1. Favorite episode? "A Story About You" probably. It's creepy, meta, and yet still so randomly hilarious at times ("How did you find me?"/"The radio kept narrating what you were doing, so it wasn't that hard", grossly paraphrased, but the best.)

2. Favorite characters? Caaaaarlos <3 <3 <3

3. Favorite topic Cecil talks about? I love hearing about the Night Vale government. I love how he does Mayor Winchell's voice, for one; I also love the Sheriff's Secret Police run downs, and how all the councilmembers speak together.

4. Favorite quote? "One time, we tried to arrest the dead body, but it got away." And from the Twitter feed: "Whisper a dangerous secret to someone you care about. Now they have the power to destroy you, but they won't. This is what love is."

(Y'know, WTNV is so weird to me, because I love the podcast and I love the fanart, but I have no urge to read fanfic for it.)

3. The Waterfront...that has no water. The idea of Hiram McDaniels running for mayor, & kind of not what he talks about, but the fact that Desert Bluffs is made of...what it's made of.

4. "If you say guns kill people one more time, we will shoot you with a gun and you will coincidentally, die." & yes I waited for your icon to rotate around to copy that.

I know I'm late to the party, but here goes! I love WTNV.

This may be cheating, but I love The Sandstorm, parts 1 and 2. I like the episodes where we get more characterization of Night Vale residents. Hearing a show from an entirely different character in comparison to Cecil was awesome, especially when you start thinking about the differences between the two towns. Are they in the same dimension? Did the portal cross dimensions? Is Cecil or Kevin lying? Plus, the way Cecil says, "I GIVE YOU THE WEATHER," in the angriest voice is somehow hilarious to me.

I don't have any specific headcanon for Cecil, it changes with every fanart I see, though my favorite ones involve at least one extra eye.

A WEIRD SOLITARY THOUGHT ABOUT THE SANDSTORM EPISODE:

I think it's interesting that Cecil doesn't have a double (and for that matter, neither does Kevin). Or at least that we don't hear about them. Because most other Night Vale residents do (even Dana obviously, and Vanessa in Desert Bluffs, and I don't think THEY are each other's). So that seems to point to both Cecil and Kevin having SOMETHING setting them apart from the rest of Night Vale/Desert Bluffs, like some kind of protection, or perhaps because they're on the pivot point of the trans-dimensional thing that allows them to cross over into the other's space.

I also think Kevin's throw-away line about the equipment in Cecil's studio "look[ing] much older" than the ones in his, to the point he thinks he might have gone back in time, is fascinating. Does that mean the viscera covered state of affairs is a newish thing and Desert Bluffs used to be "normal" (or at least as normal as Night Vale)? Or is Cecil's studio just kinda generally retro?

I also think it's hilarious both of those dorks have pictures of themselves in their respective studios. Like I get why it makes sense from a narrative standpoint, but WHAT, why would you even.

19A and B, because in my opinion Desert Bluffs is one of the greatest bits of subtly unnerving horror the show has ever done.

2. Favorite characters?
Besides Cecil? Old Woman Josie and the Erikas. And Tamika Flynn.

3. Favorite topic Cecil talks about?
Carlos, because the moments when he shows emotion in his voice are the greatest.

4. Favorite quote?
"Your existence is not impossible, but it's also not very likely."

GAH! WHY AM I ALWAYS LATE FOR THINGS LIKE THIS!?

But I'll just hop in here anyway.

Favorite episode (and topic of discussion): A Story About You. But to tell you the truth, I honestly liked it because of that planet that Cecil always talks about, hovering just right above the Earth all dark and lightless and always there, but getting closer and closer every time you look...

The reason for this is because I have this weird story idea that I have for months now concerning the kind of things that might be home in Night Vale. It is a boy who's almost normal, looks normal, speaks normal ... in fact, you would likely to think he's just another statistic in a large crowd ... but has the ability to call down beings, beings worse than Eldricth Abominations.

The only reason he hasn't destroyed the world yet is because he's partly afraid of his power (but does not hesitate to use it if in danger) and that his mother (plot twist, she's a Malay vampiress) raised him to be a good person. Also, one of the beings (a male one, if it even has a gender!) fell in love with the boy.

For some reason, the topic of the Planet in A Story about You kinda brought up the story idea back to my mind. What is that planet? Where did it come from? WHO, or WHAT, lives there? And above all, is it even a planet in the first place?

Sometimes I think too much about these things, but I will not say that I regret it. :)

Has anyone else heard the headcanon that he and Cecil are actually really good friends, and that Cecil rags on him the same way you would casually and lovingly insult your own friends? Because I'm starting to believe that more and more.
