Criticizing Israel is not automatically anti-Semitic. It is possible to acknowledge the awful things Jews have gone through and their right to have their own country and to be free from oppression (with the caveat that the Palestinians have the same right) and still think their policies and treatment of Palestinians is awful.

Criticizing Israel is not anti-Semitic. You can see someone being anti-Semitic in the thread below. But criticizing Israel's policies and thinking that they are, on balance, unjust to the Palestinians is not. No state, no organized body, no institution, no entity in this world is perfect or beyond criticism. Reasonable people can disagree on this issue and can make arguments on both sides. It's not anti-Semitic if you agree with one side. It can become anti-Semitic, and we should watch for and criticize and expunge any trace of that, but it is not anti-Semitic. Don't do this.

Frankly, I'm tired of people screaming that legit criticisms are that simply because of the country they are aimed at. Also, criticizing Israel =/=automatically viewing Palestinians the way you mentioned.

That's... not what I'm doing? Israeli brutality and anti-Israel propaganda have little relation to one another.

When I hear about Israeli soldiers tying a Palestinian kid to the hood of their jeep because he and his friends wouldn't stop throwing rocks at them, that just strikes me as a PR coup for Hamas, especially if you don't mention the rocks part. But anti-Israel propaganda includes accusations of genocide and other such nonsense and goes back to the 1940s before there even was an Israel.

just wanted to say, thanks for trying. I've long since given up on the average LIBERALLLLLLLLLLL internet denizen understanding the situation, like, at all. I mostly steer clear of this stuff, 'cause it just ups my blood pressure for no reason. But at least somebody still speaks up...

The fact is, most of these people have no clue just how biased the media is, because 99% of the time nobody even calls it out. They'll condone murder of Israeli children because somehow they deserve it. I don't understand how they don't hear themselves, but okay.
