I started a new job that requires me being on my feet for the entire 8+ hour shift. I just finished my third week, and though my feet don't hurt anymore, my back is just killing me. Every day that I go, I grit my teeth and feel like my spine is about to crack. Then when I got home from work last night, I realized I was running a fever, too. Luckily today is my day off, but ugh. I need this job, and I more or less enjoy it. But I feel like it's draining me dry.

I wish my mother would fire the damn bi-monthly cleaning lady already. I know she's worked for us for 20 years, but she's half-blind and does a shit job. We have to remove toothbrushes, towels and carpets before she comes because for the latter, she almost always splashes bleach on them, and as for the toothbrushes and their holder, she switches their contents with the contents of a cup with old rusting shaving razors (that my mother insists on keeping, I don't know why), despite the fact that the thing with the tooth-brush shaped holes is obviously for the toothbrushes! I can only conclude she does it to pretend she did more than she actually did. She also never puts the shampoo, moisturizer and face washes back where they were standing, instead grouping them in all sorts of weird spaces despite always finding them in their one space.

She also leaves the shower turned on so that whoever gets in next can get a nice freezing surprise and twists the shower head out of shape. Oh, and somehow she gets the bar of soap in the shower covered in the weird kind of grit.

Dowstairs in the kitchen, she puts soap on everything and barely washes it off. I once took a packet of cheese out of the fridge to find it soapy to the touch. She regularly soaps down the tea kettle and leaves it unrinsed and if we don't catch it fast enough, someone in the family will get a nice ruined cup of tea or ramen that tastes like it's been poisoned. She rewashes all the cups whether they're clean or not and leaves them to dry upright with a half-inch of water standing in them.

AND WHAT SHE DOES TO THE FLOORS. Occasionally I have had a suspicion that she was mixing bleach and ammonia from the smell of them. Usually though what she does is mop the entire floor down and use as little water as possible. I'll come home from work on a hot day, kick off my shoes and step barefoot onto the (apparently dry, but actually) most disgusting slimy floor, ugh. When we remop it there are literal suds everywhere.

Mom won't fire her because she feels too bad to do it. I would but I can't speak her language.

*whew* Been wanting to get that off my chest for years now. First world problems of the most shallow nature, but still.

I hate that for certain subjects at my university, the only book available is a stupid online thing. It has downloadable PDFs but when I'm working on a paper and I need to fact-check something it would be so much easier and quicker for me to flip through the book than wait forever to load a pdf and scroll around trying to find something. And if I found it used, it would a fuckload cheaper too.

ALSO why does everybody upload stuff in fucking .DOCX

I have to get a heart ultrasound done on Wednesday. Because I'm actually seeing a cardiologist (my brother died a few years ago of a previously-unknown heart condition and given the family history, my doctor wants me to get cleared) I have to use his preferred clinic, which is at a university hospital an hour away.

I can't drive and have limited mobility, and the only bus that doesn't drop me off completely across campus from where I need to be involves getting a different bus forty-five minutes in the opposite direction first, so I'm going to have to leave the house two hours before my appointment starts just to make it on time.

My allergies are killing me, they get worse every year and I fear that someday I won't even be able to even wake up in the mornings because of how much antihistamines I need to take to function and how sleepy they make me. Oh, and I just discovered that vaccines for it apparently cost more than what I would make selling a lung, so they are quite out of discussion for now. I'm pretty desperate at the moment.

And I just seem to have lost the storage key where I keep recent data from the lab, so now it's entirely likely that I will need to work double to get the same data. Again.

Also, I need to paint some rooms in my house and I don't have fucking time and the new furniture must be ordered before the end of the month or I lose a good deal.

I don't even feel better after unloading...

I run a small fandom blog, and the majority of my followers are only into this franchise because of this one actor.

I'm not an elitist! I'm happy they like it, regardless of the reason. Hell, I do like this actor a lot. But I'm interested in other things, too. And it feels so lonely to gush about the trivia, the meta, the original books, and all those other actors when nobody shares my excitement :(

Eh, at least I've got a place where I can gush about it, I guess. It means a lot in itself.

There's this guy in my class-group that is a major asshole to everyone, classmates and teachers alike, who should have been expelled a long time ago, and yet is still here getting on our nerves.
I can't fathom how he worked his way. I want to give him a high-five for his pains. In the face. With a chair.

I'm kind of tired of Facebook friends guilt tripping me about not sharing their political or religious views. Not outright, but they have to know their passive aggressive statuses are going to apply to someone on their friends feed. I'm fine with expressing your opinion, but don't make it clear I'm not to express mine if I am, in your book, a decent person.

Is chocolate supposed to burn? I got a bar of Lily's Chocolate because I saw it in the high end chocolate section and I wanted to see how it tasted. ...it tastes like chemicals. Burning chemicals. Maybe because rather than using sugar, they sweetened it with Stevia. Does Stevia burn?

I'm burnt out on reading. I feel like such a fuck because I'm an English major. I love helping my peers out in workshops and I love getting help on my writing, but I really can't stand reading and writing right now. We have to read five stories a week (and they're short so this shouldn't bug me) and write 300 words about each of them. I...hate it so much. It's hard to write 300 words about a short story that (most of the time) I didn't even like. So I'm so burnt out on it. But I might just be being a baby because my birthday is coming up and, ugh, I just don't want to deal with that shit.

I wish it was normal to like being single. I'm getting strangers asking if I have a boyfriend and my friend's waiting for me to lose my virginity because I'm the last one in the group to do so. I don't know a way to say 'please stop' without sounding incredibly bitter.

This weekend has been absolute torture! I have this nasty toothache that started on Friday and thanks to my dentist being closed on Fridays with no way to call for an emergency appointment, I have to wait until tomorrow morning to call and (hopefully) get some antibiotics. I've never looked forward to a Monday morning in my life.

I'm in a position right now where I'm actually aiming for less than 40% on two modules because I've done so little work this term that I'd rather be able to resubmit them than get the 40-50% grade I'd otherwise get.

I was going to pay a cheque into the bank yesterday but I went to a different branch from my usual(because of movie-related reasons) and instead of it shutting at 3pm on a Saturday(which is my local branch's closing time on a sat) this one shut at 1pm instead, which was a good hour before I had even arrived. The real annoyance comes from the fact that all the other banks were still open so if I was with anyone else I would have been able to pay my cheque in. *shakes fists*
