Meh if the genders were reversed there'd be a lot more outrage.

Although I'm actually a bit surprised Tumblr cares since Bale is a white cis straight male.

there have been times where i thought i'd be willing to throw money at someone, just so they would write the fic ideas that i am too lazy or untalented to do. it seems strange that paying for a good fic isn't as common as paying for a piece of fan art.

My flawless skin, my stubbornness (not that anyone else likes it), and my bizarre ability to remember random facts (but only ones that interest me).

Thank you.

I don't either but she's EVERYWHERE. I mean how can you not know about the Hunger Games at this point?

He's famous for punching women.

Like a lot of women.

Most of them nuns.

There was wank here not too long about this and everyone was crying that artists have to pay for supplies and writers don't. That's not the case but it's the common perception.

I sincerely hope that one day you do write your personal fantasies and post them, I cannot get enough f/f.

I think fic is a lot better when the writer is enjoying what they're writing. I see this in my own work, anyway.

What about live action?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, you're not going to see any real people wearing clothes like that, because they wouldn't stay on, but how do you feel about, say, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue? Is it the nudity that's the issue, or nudity+anime/game art?

my body from below the tits down, with special mention to my belly. and my sense of humor i suppose.

Pretty easily. I've seen trailers for those movies but never seen them. I've never seen anything she's in and don't pay attention to celebrities in general. I thought she looked vaguely familiar though.

I think the argument is that they shouldn't make the dropping of the atomic bombs into some heroic thing?

They could changed it into anything else, really but this is true, then I can definitely see how people would be upset.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Idk what others say about it, but what is definitely whitewashing and problematic about it is changing the origin story.
s. http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/force-nature-man-rubber-suit-back-look-back-60-years-godzilla-king-monsters/

Originally Godzilla was inspired by an accident involving a test-detonation of a hydrogen bomb by the U.S. resulting in the fatal irradiation of several Japanese fishing boats crews.

See that in the light of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. It's not directly about the American, it's about the atomic bomb itself, yes. But taking this part of American responsibility out of the story is shitty as fuck.

“We’ve taken it very seriously and the theme is man versus nature and Godzilla is certainly the nature side of it,” said Edwards in a July 2013 interview.“

force of nature, ok. but appropriating the story by rewriting it so that Americans shoot atomic bombs to stop godzilla, as it's at least rumoured? that's just wrong in my opinion, if you call it white washing or not.

I honestly don't understand how anyone with long hair is supposed to be able to live a normal life with it down all the time. It gets into everything including your eyes and food. Although I don't know if it's easier with fine hair, mine's very thick. If I leave it down it's a bother in literally every aspect of my life.

I blame much of tv and the movies. So tired of seeing tv heroines with long, loose flowing hair. Especially action girls; the first thing anyone would d it a fight is go for your hair.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Which is even more of a bullshit justification since a lot of artists use tablets and other digital mediums.

Maybe she's born with it...

Re: What Time of Day Does the Mail Arrive?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
The US Postal Service is operating on extreme debt and can't do anything about it except fire more employees and close more offices. They can deliver mail anytime between 7am and 10pm. The standard is 5pm but they have permission in about a quarter of the country to deliver after 5pm and as late as 10pm.

We usually get our mail between 6pm and 9pm for the last three months because the three closest post offices were closed in December.

Mass Effect 3 multiplayer

[personal profile] diet_poison 2014-03-05 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Anyone else play ME3 multiplayer?

If so, do you play it on PC or console?

What are your experiences with it?

I started playing a while ago with some friends. There's one friend, about the same skill level as me, who I play with once a week or so. I'm getting annoyed by the fact that even though we are on the lowest challenge level (Bronze), we keep getting really experienced players in our games and they take all the kills, give me very little chance to practice, and take all the points and XP. I feel like they should be playing on higher challenge levels if they're earning ten times the score of other players...is this a typical thing in this game? :/ Is there any way to filter for players around the same skill level as me? I really want to get better by practicing, but I feel like the way it is right now I can't practice much.

On a related note, if anyone plays ME3 on Origin (and is more-or-less a noob with Multi), would you like to play together sometime? :3

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
they're using a different origin story- not that Godzilla will be born out of nuclear power, but that the atomic bomb was used to fight.

that's what I heard- then I would 100% understand the claim of whitewashing and shitty appropriation

I'm here for the Maka-Maka love. Also, you should totally write what you like! How would people even know you get off to it unless you tell them, anyway? :P

People always complain about this but I've never had much trouble with my hair.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
The primary category by which I judge [by which I mean in the neutral sense of "form an opinion on"] cosplay on is how well it is constructed and presented. A well-made, well-fitting costume with accurate or creative accessories and styling (wig/hairdo, makeup, etc) is almost certainly going to look better than a something pulled together from cheap fabric remnants and thrift store pieces. Good costumes are good costumes, regardless of the build of the fan wearing them.
