I always picture as this really cool and handsome lone wolf kind of survivor. I reluctantly let others tag along with me until I scare them off on purpose because it'll save their lives if they don't have to see me sacrifice myself to a horde to ensure their survival.

someone went back in time to the 1980s with recording equipment and just recorded a couple hours' worth of ambient audio and made it into an album. I mean, this is pretty much how I remember the 80s sounding like all the time.

Nobody walked anywhere, we all drove corvettes and when we did need to go on foot, we moonwalked our way there in rollerblades. All the trees were palm trees, we lit our houses with neon and spoke in Flock of Seagulls lyrics. We wore pastel suits with t-shirts underneath (yes even the women), everyone had at least 3 pairs of sunglasses (including at least one pair of shutter shades), and Molly Ringwald and David Coverdale did everybody's hair. And always, always, this kind of music could be heard everywhere, 24/7, with no discernible source.

Frankly I think what put a lot of people off Gwen was her cheating on her fiance, feeding him retcon pills to get away with shit, and then still marrying him while she was secretly pining for Jack.

I think she actually turned out more interesting over time - but gawd,it did irritate me. It's not even the cheating per se. It's the dishonesty with yourself in acknowledging what you want and letting others suffer for it.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, anon. You're just writing a rough draft, then revising, like (decent) writers do. Another thing to take into account is that people can follow dialogue tags pretty well, so using characters' names is fine, but having "he said" and "she said" is also fine. You can even do short exchanges with no tags at all, and just have someone else beta it to make sure it's clear.

I'm fairly certain my son is going to grow up to be a rapist.
He's got his fathers shitty weak genes, lives in the rape culture of the modern era whichshows no signs of improving, and hates his sister, and I keep finding his internet history. He has a disturbing interest in anti-woman smut. I'm doing my best to make him grow up right, and it's not like I think he's a lost cause or anything, a parent can't think like that, but I don't think he's going to be capable of being the rare non-shitty adult male.
TLDR sometimes a mother just knows which child will let them down.

Haha I grew up with a favourite, so I get that it's hella hurtful. I even got to overhear that awful "which one would you save?" conversation and that sucked balls for tiny me. But I'm not exactly going to hold it against my dad for being a dumb human who sucks at not being obvious about it.

Shit. Okay, well maybe, yeah I still do, but not as much as I did then. Like I'm saying, no one's impervious to them partial feelings.

It's not really a TIL thing, but I'm sorting papers from when I was in middle/high school and I seriously have no memory of doing like close to half of this work. O___o Also: papers from my zoo taxonomy class. Daaaaang.

But I'm also really enjoying tossing all the old algebra/trig homework straight into that recycle bin. Eeesh.

As a person who slashes old adventure books, heh, you're probably right. Andm really, there are not many women in these books, so not much food for het. You can't make a het heavy fandom out of OCs alone.
