As an artist, I couldn't agree more. But it's the people who use somebody else's fanart in their icons and then demand full credit for themselves, THAT'S what pisses me off. It's one thing to go, "well this isn't mine, I just found it". It's another thing to go "THIS ISN'T MINE BUT YOU BETTER CREDIT ME ANYWAY CUZ I WORKED SO HARD CROPPING THIS PICTURE DOWN TO 100x100 AND PUTTING TEXT ON IT!!111oneone"

I don't care about people taking my art, but I do care about them being like "OMG CREDIT ME NAO."

I believe art should be free. You can use my art freely, but that means I get your shit freely too.

(In general, I want some iconist to get on my ass about it, so I can be like "I'll credit you when credit ever person involved in getting the picture to you to make it into an icon." Photographer, editor, scanner, whatever. I'm sure nowadays you could do it, or make an honest stab at it.)

Not the OP, here, but I see a lot of people saying the characters were flat and/or shallow, the plot was boring, there was no character development, Vayne wasn't scary, battles are boring, Ashe sucks, Balthier sucks, and, most of all, that the game wasn't as good as Final Fantasy (insert number; usually VI, VII, or X).

I don't really get it. I own my ugly just fine (I'm a chubby schlub who'd rather watch a movie in sweats than dress nice, fix my hair and put on makeup), but does being unattractive somehow mean I can't like pretty things? I should limit my icons to people who are fug?

No one uses a Kate Moss icon assuming people are going to think she's them, or that she somehow represents them physically.

I mean, because I live in the shit end of Cleveland, does that mean I'm somehow misrepresenting myself by using an icon of a Caribbean beach?
