NOT SECRET #1 FTW!!

Here, have an internet, original poster.

29. What is it with all these secrets about people "loosing" respect for other people? You know, if you want people to respect you, you should learn to fucking spell.

33. I'd say yes, too. The whole incest taboo is an odd one. The biggest actual, practical problem would be the offspring, and they've taken all the necessary precautions, so... what's the big deal? (Anybody else hear about that couple who got married and then discovered they were twins separated at birth? Totally proves that the incest taboo is entirely a socially constructed thing. Screw "morality" based in evolution and biology XD)

37. Ha. No further mention of this movie! Because... this random anonymous person doesn't like it! Yes, yes, we'll definitely obey that one... (It's not even out yet over here wtf...)

Not that furries don't squick me a bit too, but unlike you I have some decency and patience.

The show is worth it. I tend to stay out of it (I do my little arts and sometimes poke around Deviant Art) Do not let oldschool/newschool fights, Rose vs. Martha etc scare you off. This brilliant, life affirming show is, and I hate to paraphrase RTD "Worth the monsters."

Rose is pretty cool and any one who bothers you about it isn't worth listening to anyway. There is so much fun to be had with the fans out there that get it.

Very much worth it. I'm not scared about elitist Classic fans; I can deal with that. And besides, from what I've heard, the Classic fans are very nice for the most part.

Rose AND Martha are cool, to me. I don't see why the battles between the fans are so epic :[

As a fan of the medium of comic art as a whole, these sorts of arguments always make me snort, a little; then I want to drink tea and insist that anything from Europe be called Bandes Dessinee, to satisfy the pedant that beats at the centre of my soul.

Different countries will have different cultural approaches to the artform at the end of the day, just like they do to any medium. But TV is TV and movies are movies and comics are comics. Marketing folks should Get A Clue and stop trying to force the issue. Meanwhile, readers should just appeciate the books on their own terms and not on a perception (or on what TOKYOPOP or similar says).

Becky Cloonan is WIN, by the way. Fantastic artist and a smart woman. Easily one of my favourite female artists on the US circuit.

It's lesbian day!

1. "Also, you have a dime up your nose!" "I wish. It's a nickel."
(In other words: who wouldn't?)

5. Damn right.

9. Zelda Monkey Island retro adventure game lesbian crush.
There's no part of that I don't like.

13. Now I'm invisioning Ichigo as a cougar, i.e. older woman picking up on younger guys. And it's kind of awesome.

20. Aw, that's sweet. Always nice to see games about giant robots and military mindfucks bring people together <3

27. I just don't understand why a Western artist would call what they do a manga unless they're trying to ride the Eastern coattails. There's no shame in being a comic book. Comic books are neat. Hell, they've got goddamn literature, like Watchmen and Sandman. There's just an element of pretending-to-be-something-you're-not to "American manga" that irks me.

I've never heard of that series. I'll have to look it up when I get the chance.

28. I've seen approximately two episodes of SGA, and I'm surprised that DreadlocksMan isn't slashed with everybody. Cause, damn.

30. That would be so fucking awesome there are no words.

37. Can we please at least use a different picture now and then? There must be some lovely ones of people's throats getting sliced.

40. There he is, brain the size of a planet, and all anyone wants him for is his body. *sigh*

5. This shouldn't have to be a secret. :)

11. I don't think that's stupid at all.

13. Yeah, seriously. Every time a fan draws a canon character as an animal, that character is RUINED FOREVER. Oh, wait, no he isn't.

We don't want you here, got it?

Speak for yourself.

22. You poor thing. Here, have some brain bleach.

30. I'm for it, but maybe with a different picture. I can't stand that one. It always makes me wonder how he managed to dislocate his right shoulder, when it's his left one that gets all the strain from the constant pointing.

N!S 2: Maybe because people want their smut betaed? The point in their userinfo about characters being of age suggests that the mods assume that's the case.

13. Wow, "You jack off to dog cock" - Sterotypin' much? Sorry your hate blinds you so much that you forget that a lot of people draw ANIMAL CHARACTERS as HUMANS and it usually FUCKS IT UP.

http://tenzuki.deviantart.com/art/Goodbye-Days-74490805 Like this? Holy shit, Goofy is not a fucking pretty boy. He has bucked teeth and a poor posture - some weeaboo ruined it for me! Should that mean I should be mad at all people who like anime? No. Maybe you should GTFO and lighten up.

26. Single most WEEABOO series you've ever seen? Why, because it has beautiful animation, characters that actually progress and devolop, and wonderful culture references? Also, you "loose" respect? lol.

41. Quite honestly, I don't know squat about Doctor Who except that from what I see, I love it. I have a friend who gobbles all it up and knows a lot more then I do, and she's pretty paient with me asking questions and not knowing. You just have to associate with fans who aren't asses about that kind of thing. ....I have no idea if that helps you, and I'm probably off topic.

26. I've always thought that Avatar started with Japan as inspiration but slowly went to China for the rest of the storyline and simply stayed there.

The Avatar story alone is more in tune with "Journey to the West" than any epic that Japan has come up with. The style started off as an anime but the last season and a half, most of the places the team were in had real life CHINESE counterparts. Not Japanese, again, Chinese. I mean, the Fire Nation are the people of the dragon. That's a Chinese reference to. All the fighting styles are based off of Chinese martial arts. Everything written in the Avatar world is in Chinese.

So, again, aside from the initial inspiration, how is Avatar weeabo?

I hated the way Mansfield Park played out too. Basically Fanny gets to be sloppy seconds because Mary is no longer appropriate marriage material. How wonderful. Henry at least really wanted to marry her for herself, not because his first choice was unavailable.

Re: 10

(Anonymous) 2008-01-26 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
I can sympathise with Edmund being all "Mary! Awesome!", because, well, she kind of is. The thing is about the Crawfords is that they make Edmund and Fanny lighten up, too - they're so serious about everything. And Henry was a dick over Maria, no question, but I believe he did love Fanny.

How hard is it, seriously, to PROOF-READ your goddamn secrets?

(Anonymous) 2008-01-26 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
It's insanely hard.

I mean, first, you have to think about what you're actually saying. And then you have to, like, read it over again. And then if you find any bad stuff, you have to, like, click on the word and highlight and go through all the trouble of typing out a whole word again. It's totally NOT worth the effort.

Besides, I have fancy fonts and an awesomely cool picture for my background. Who cares what it says if my secret has grammer errors? This isn't a community where you just post text and stuff. You post pictures. so that's gotta be what counts.
