Inspired by number 2. When you were young, whether in elementary school or high school, did you bully other kids? (Not did YOU get bullied, because it's very possible to be bullied and bully other kids, too) Even just teasing or making fun of other unpopular kids (or handicapped, disabled, etc. kids)

I take it by bullying you mean repeated or sustained picking on? Or following around and singling out someone to harass?

I'd bet we're all guilty of making fun of someone else at least once.

I was a dick to other kids sometimes but I don't think I was ever a bully.

And I think there's a real difference between those two things. And, like, if we're saying that everyone who's ever teased someone else is a bully, then I think pretty much all human beings in history are bullies.

No. Nor was I particularly bullied. I flew under the radar of most of my peers. I was smart but quiet. A bit weird but not enough to be noticed.

I use to make some kinda mean jokes about one girl in junior high school, sometimes. I didn't hate her or anything, I actually thought of her as a friend. It wasn't until I was older that I realized what I used to say in jest was probably definitely kinda mean. =/

In high school, I was a bit mean to a girl who was overweight, ugly, and VERY ANNOYING. That last part in all caps. I feel horrible about it now. Everyone was making fun of her behind her back. I wasn't the worst of it but I wasn't a good person then either.

Nope. I was the one bullied, and I rarely ever talked to anyone so I didn't even really have the opportunity to bully.

No. There were plenty of times I was an ass and made fun of someone, but I can't remember ever doing it twice to anyone (bullying is something you do repeatedly, I think). It was never physical, since my unpleasant side has always manifested verbally.

Who would actually admit they were...most people don't have the self awareness to look back and go "I bullied that kid."

Nope. Was the one being bullied. although I will admit I have retaliated pretty badly sometimes.

I wasn't a bully in the sense of singling out kids to make their lives miserable. But I did have a friend who confessed to me when we were in high school that my treatment of her in junior high upset her. I felt really bad about that.

I feel comfortable saying I didn't bully or tease anyone after elementary school. I was mostly a wallflower, then found some good friends who were the eccentric bunch, and I am confident that I didn't really make anyone's lives miserable, even for a day.

In elementary school, though? I'm fairly confident that I never went out of my way to bully or tease anyone. But I was shy and would passively join in the jokes about other kids (the two developmentally disabled kids). I don't think I myself was ever the one to go out of my way to put any other kid down, but yeah, I would join in the giggling and "ew"s on occasion, which was really shitty. I wasn't popular myself, though - I might've been teased once or twice but not bullied. I do recall one proud moment where I stuck up for an unpopular girl who fell during gym class and her skirt came up so you could see her underwear. But honestly, I was more likely to hide in the corner, say nothing, or laugh along with the "cool" kids so that they'd like me.

Absolutely not. Who was there for me to bully? I was literally the least popular person in the whole school. I was the school punching bag. Even the kids with mental disabilities ragged on me. I once had someone basically shittalk me in front of the whole school and a guest and nobody did a goddamn thing. Literally nobody said anything. Nobody put a stop to this kid who was telling this guest what a loser I was. He was a popular kid, charismatic and athletic, and I was the sheltered homebody who didn't give a damn about sports and was hard of hearing in a deaf school. So of course I was basically expected to sit there and take it. If it'd happened to anyone else, it would've been stopped immediately. But it didn't and it wasn't, so haha fuck me right?

So I mooned the fucker. In front of the whole school. And I'll fucking do it again.

My school records say that in kindergarten, I punched and threatened other kids and they were terrified of me. I have no memory of this at all.

I was kind of a bully between the ages of 5 to 8-9 (how do you call the school before elementary school? Preschool?). I was in a little gang and I remember picking on some "rejected by the group" children. I also with a bunch of kids threw a garbage bin at one of our teachers' son. He cried and I felt really bad.

There was also a really weird kid who was in my class in junior high. He had terrible breath and generally acted very weird (strange posture, wouldn't shut up about the French revolution one time for whatever reason) and me and a friend picked on him. It didn't stop him from talking to us and following us around.

I feel pretty bad about it now. I was also bullied in junior high but I didn't stop him fro bullying that dude.

I wouldn't say that I ever bullied anyone, but me and my friends started avoiding some of the unpopular kids.

We were sort of in the middle of the popularity ladder, so we had friends among the popular kids, while the less popular ones often hung around us. At times they followed us around, which got extremely annoying, so towards the end of one school year we were actively avoiding one group of them. This was of course not very nice, but we were never purposely mean (no violence, no name-calling or any of the like) and would try to include them. We just needed some space at times too.

That sad truth is, I wasn't one, but I got some of that, then I flipped out and jumped a guy it'd be stupid to jump, and did well enough that people left me alone after that. Not sure it's a good message but it's what went down.

Nah, I was nerdy and quiet, tended to spend recess reading in a corner or playing imagination games more than anything else. I was on the fringes of most cliques - never quite alone, but not really popular.
Though I found out on a sleepaway trip in 12th grade that I had a reputation for "always knowing interesting stuff", when some of the girls invited me over to their room and asked me about black holes, and listened with great interest to a lecture on space and stars for an hour or so.

I wasn't. But if I could like be another person, I'd gladly bully myself. Not anyone else. Just specifically myself. I'd make my own life a living hell if I could.

No. I was definitely a bitch, but I didn't go after anyone or tease them about shit they couldn't help.
The most bullied kid in my year at school was actually a friend of mine. He used to leave his backpack with me during lunch when he went off to do stuff so people wouldn't steal from him. I was known for stabbing people who stole from me. You poke a guy in the hand with a plastic spork ONE TIME for sticking his grubby hands in your fruit salad, and suddenly you're a certified badass.

I thought "Nobody would admit to being a bully" anon up there was being ridiculous, but now that I've read the whole thread, maybe they have a point.

I'm very willing to admit I was a bully, though. Maybe it's because my school was small and teachers almost always noticed bullying when it happened and made us apologize. For some reason I was stupid and did it anyway. Me and almost all the rest of the class always made fun of a kid who smelled bad, me and my friends taunted a girl in a younger grade who was "weird" and "babyish"... but she became one of my best friends a few years later. Then she and I made up mean songs about guy in another class about how he was fat and a crybaby. I think that was it.

Don't worry, though. By middle school I was the one getting picked on, and by high school I had no friends and was the weird one who got talked about behind her back all the time.
