I gotta say Snape/Hermione is one of those ships I just do not get. Not one of those ones that I just deeply disagree with the argument for it like Snape/Harry, it's just...I cannot understand what people see in it. Every manifesto just confused the heck out of me.

Well, I don't really understand shipping young kids with adults. And I know they get "older" but it's even weirder to me to think about a relationship between a teacher and a student they had when that student was 11.

And there's not even any sexy, simmering, intense moments between the two. There's really not, pedophilia aside - I don't get the ship or what the appeal possibly could be. Besides Hermoine being the self-insert for many female readers who then proceeded to crush on Snape. (which I also cannot understand for the life of me, yuck)

I guess, I don't really do that thing were I relate to one character and ship myself with the character I am most attracked to? I don't really relate that much to characters anyway. Like, I think they are intresting, but I only really identified with maybe 2 characters in the last 5 years or so? How common is it for people to insert themselves into a ship (for lack of a better word....)?

As for the secret, well I understand why you would like to keep this a secret, but I also don't think it's a bad reason to ship them. Whatever makes you happy, you know?

Eh. This is what fandom is for.

I liked them when I was a 15 year old and was really into shipping 15 year olds with much older men. As an adult I feel differently about it but at the time it must have filled some need. If you get comfort out of this or something I don't judge you.
