65. Miyako was made of awesome, and most of the hate began once her and Ken became canon. The Digimon fandom is made of wank and LULZ, I'm afraid. It's a shame, though, because Miyako was one of the deeper female characters they made for the series.

The reason I adore Enchanted so much is because it's exactly what I loved about Disney movies when I was little: the songs, cleaning up with enchanted animals, the ball, the confrontation with evil, the happily ever after. And seeing Disney going down that path again when they haven't in a while was the best kind of nostalgia ever.

Okay, I'll admit I'm also a huge Disney freak, and pretty much have been since I could breathe. So maybe I'm a little biased.

But Enchanted really is the cutest thing since kittens, if you ask me. ♥

Not to mention, it's one of the first Disney movies in a while that's actually featured traditional 2D animation that wasn't a crappy direct-to-DVD sequel. I liked Disney because of their animations, not because of their bad live-action family films. =/

You obviously have trouble with the whole Fantasy =/= Reality thing. I'll admit this, I was almost raped a few years ago; but guess what, the thought of the guy in my icon doing the same thing is a turn on. Why? Because he's not real. It's not going to happen. Would I like to be raped? No. Do I think rape is okay? No. Do I find incest interesting? Yes. Do I condone it? No. Do I like fiction containing it? Yes. 32. Fantasy =/= reality. Rape fantasy isn't a kink of mine, but it's a kink for some. That's all there is to it. Ditto incest. ::shrug:: The line gets blurry and problematic, though, that's definitely for sure. The ideas that young fans must get from reading some of the stuff that's out there... I wish "rape fantasy" was an accepted genre tag, it would clear things up, perhaps.

That's why I said I initially didn't think they were anti-religious, because...y'know, they just seemed so magical, and doesn't religion at its heart sort of come from the same part of us that dreams up talking polar bears and multiple worlds? (I'm not trying to diss religion by saying this, btw.)

But then I started hearing about how Pullman had written them to be the anti-Narnia and he wanted children to have an atheist equivalent of Narnia because religion was eeeevil or something and. It made me sad precisely because I'd liked the books so much. :(

I think both are disturbing but people do seem to like it in fiction. And most of them probably wouldn't like to be raped in real life. They're definitely feeding the imaginations of actual rapists and such but whether or not they want to take responsibility for that is up to the individual.
