Me too D:

Because people jump to the conclusion that I'm Christian when they start hating on me, and when they find out I'm a Jew suddenly they have Jewish friends and took a correspondence course once on Godwin's law.

Seems like you can't be a proper fan if you can't use the computer on Shabbat.

Re: 1

[identity profile] rosehiptea.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
I used to not use the computer on Shabbat and people in fandom respected that. Then when I left and started doing what I felt I really need to do, they respected that too.

I'm not arguing with your bad experience -- it's yours -- and there are bad attitudes toward Jews and observant Jews out there but... my experience has overall been very different.

I adore Enterprise as well, I loved the song, but I still feel that it's completely not right for Star Trek.

I don't understand why some Trek fans don't like Enterprise, I really don't. I was raised on all the Star Trek series though so I suppose is inevitable that I'll love anything to do with Star Trek.

10. *LOL* I understand the annoyance but at the same time, I understand why they don't. You can't select a user icon, right? ( I personally take the time to log out and back in so I can. ) And unless you have a paid account, you can't edit it. . .if I recall.

I dunno. Either way? I logged into an RP account just to reply. 8D

46. I can understand how you feel. I actually RP a character of my OTP, a friend plays the other. However, even though I fangirl about the pairing. . .how my friend and I actually RP the characters. . .it will never happen. I enjoy the friendship that they have.

71. NEAR FOR THE WIN. If I wasn't in my RP account, I would use a Near icon to share the love. :D

[identity profile] dorknessrising.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
46. Y'know, I like friendship fic, too, and I wish there was more of it. But I think you're an asshat for telling people what to write.

Just because you find friendship fic just as fulfilling as romance doesn't mean everyone else will.

Please, STFU and quit making genfic readers and writers look like entitled twatwaffles.

[identity profile] enjolras.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
That's truly sad, in my opinion. If a conversation happens to wander to religion, for whatever reason, people always think that if you mention you're a Christian or whatever that you're automatically shoving it down their throats. Yeah, because all Christians are totally like that.

Anyway, I can see why you're afraid, but I hope you find the strength someday not to.

Re: 1.

[identity profile] rosehiptea.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
It is easy to get a run of comments in some communities about how much Christianity sucks, and sometimes it's hard to watch even for a non-Christian such as myself.

Then again, I'm never sure if posters mean they really have to never mention they're a Christian or that people won't sit still and listen to conversion speeches. But maybe I'm too cynical. (That's directed at the theoretical OP, not you.)

10. I just use a different browser to post anon.

25. Now I want to punch his nose.

29. That is as disturbing as #3.

39. It's never going to happen :(. And you can tell those FF fans to shut up, because it doesn't matter if you haven't played the others as they all stand alone (there are no spin-offs lalalalacan'thearyou). You have to start from somewhere and I bet some of FF fans weren't even alive when the series first started! So don't feel too bad about.

45. The Gold Blend Man!

69. For some reason I thought they did kiss :/

69. For some reason I thought they did kiss :/

Don't we all wish they did ;). I think I read so much fanfic where they kiss that I had forgotten it wasn't the case on the show :p

1: Fandom is no place for your religion. You don't need to hide it though, you just need to not shove it at people. No one you know in fandom needs to know or gives a shit about your goddamn faith. Seriously.

63: Omg, me too. D= I didn't like the arc itself, I found the Bounts irritating, but I love Cloud/Claude/Kuroud whatever his name is. *glee*

[identity profile] dorknessrising.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
1. TRUFAX. Everyone I've ever seen who bitches about "needing" to hide that they're Christian are the same ones who feel the need to drag their faith into Every Single Fucking Thing Ever.

[identity profile] sheena-bandy.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'll proudly say that Enterprise was the only series of Star Trek I actually LIKED.

I cried at the end.

[personal profile] walksbyherself 2008-03-14 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Rock on, noob!

I've been playing DMC since game one, but I never understood people who hate on others just because they don't get into a fandom (or gamedom?) until later. I do hope you do get to play the earlier games, though, because I think you'll like them. (More Dante--what's not to like?)

Don't worry about anybody else. Just have fun and stay stylish.

PS - FFX was the first FF I ever played all the way through and I love it to bits.

4. Oh god, me too. *lives in delusions with you*

12. I adore GeeWay personality-wise, but he looks uncomfortably like my ex-girlfriend, which pretty much makes me completely unable to find him attractive anymore. D: Also, Bob/Mikey FTW!

48. Trufax: my first reaction when he was introduced in the manga was "DAMN, Misa got ugly." I mean, okay, I love me some feminine-looking guys, but Mello isn't even girly, just... ridiculous.

74. .....DAMN YOU, NOW I'M THINKING ABOUT IT. omg that picture. i think i hate you a little. but only a little.

1. Ouch... I wonder why...

8. Who are those two? I'm curious...

15. Seen it already via artwork on DA (Go ahead and search for it, it totally exists!)

34. Scary o.o

35.SCARIER (but understandable, lol)

42. Didn't he do so in the movie?

48. AGREED!!!

50. I'd give any series a try, as long as I have access to it

58. Go you! Good luck =D

62. Interesting... what's that series?

63. So did I, it was good for filler

Re: 8.

(Anonymous) 2008-03-14 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
They're Ryuunosuke Fujinami (boyish looking one on the right) and Shinobu Miyake from Urusei Yatsura. They're both girls, and Ryuunosuke was raised as a boy. Long story.

5. HOLY SHIT WHAT. That's.... d'awwwww. ♥ I'd totally ship it if I didn't hate Matsuda's guts though. D:

TWO SANJI SECRETS FUCK YEAH.

58. I'd be lying if Sanji didn't envoke some kind of interest in culinary arts for me. Or AT LEAST make me want to learn to cook better than I already do... which I fail at so hard. D:

64. To be honest, I don't think I could honestly stand finding a guy like Sanji. I'd feel as if he was a doormat. The fawning and coddling and sweet nothings and lovely dinners would drive me crazy. xD But his passion and adoration for women is still very admirable. Whoever ends up with Sanji is a LUCKY DOG.

Re: 64

[identity profile] goat-writer.livejournal.com 2008-03-14 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I know exactly what you mean! Although, rather than think of him as a doormat, I would always assume that he was trying to mock me with his over-the-top affection (because I'm jaded like that).

(Anonymous) 2008-03-14 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
1. Well, now you know a mere fraction of what the rest of us non-privileged folk go through outside of fandom :D :D :D Kindly cry moar and shut the fuck up, thanks ♥

NEWS FLASH: persecution is persecution no matter who it's directed towards. Just because someone is in the majority doesn't mean that they don't have the right to be hurt by people prejudging them or calling them stupid or sheeple or what-not.

77. Those of us who love TOS don't love it because it looked awesome. I love TOS because it was so lawlariously bad in some areas and just awesome in others. It was an amazing show for it's time. I actually don't like any of the Star Trek spin-offs. XD;

(Anonymous) 2008-03-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
46: AMEN. Some of the best games I've ever been in, and some of the most interesting relationships, were on a platonic level. It's too bad that those kinds of interactions are so few and far between. ~.~

2. That's how I got into Ashita no Nadja. SEE ICON.

10. THANK YOU. The internet makes people really, really lazy. "I'm too lazy to Google it." Oh my, GOD, we used to have to go to the library, children!

33. Oh, my goodness YES. Someone please do this. I'll post, I'll post. D: D: D:
(Totally agree about the fandom, though. Babies.)

46. I write a lot of romantic-relationship fic because I like the interactions, but what I love most about writing Eureka seveN fanfic is all the fraternal and familial love that are such strong themes in the series... and so well-done. I could write stories about Maeter and Renton, her "papa", all day long.
