44. I KNOW. My god, it drives me INSANE that people are all head-over-heels just because of who made the movie rather than how close it is to the book. Well, there might be, and I sure hope so! But the possibility that there's not is quite frightening to me. Some people think we go on to a spiritual plane where we no longer care about earthly things, so I might not care once I get there.... but even that bothers me. >.<

I just hold to whatever works for me to not be suicidal til it doesn't work anymore. Then I find something else.

I think fandom makes people better overall, teaching acceptance for many different kinds of people and introducing many to things they wouldn't have found otherwise, and friends with common interests to start out with. Surely, I had thought of that and am in no way ignorant to the idea of "safety" where others have already stepped, as it were and additionally I've been told that I should be flattered, in many ways I am, yet as par the secret it's only disheartening in the sense that I wished others would have dared a little more as well.

44. I like the book better, but that might just be because I read it before I saw the movie. Movie versions of books just don't come up to par for me, usually. The movie's good, Miyazaki is a wonderful film maker, but I definitely prefer the book. I was confused when Markl was like what, 8 at the most? I imagined him to be at least 14, leaning more towards 15 or 16. Seems like an odd thing to change, personally. Also, Howl was a lot more attractive in my head.

Book nerd elitism, gotta love it. :B
