Oh gosh. I agree so hard. I mean...I'm in a position where I can't say so out loud (though it might be sort of obvious who I am), which is why this thing is anon, but...yes. Yes. And I want to say it so badly, and can only thank you for doing it first. Because you're right. It is pretentious. It's so very pretentious, and I wish the girl who does it for the most part would not do it, because...it just seems egotistical. And...gah. I don't know. Just know that I agree, and I'm so happy this secret wasn't written in a wanky way, because it's such a wonderful, small, wank-free fandom and I'd hate it if HoneySyn lost that.

1.) If there's no fandom in heaven I will be seriously displeased.

44.) I've found the best way to handle things like that is to just view them as entirely different entities. It's much less frustrating. Practical Magic was SO different that I could have been very angry. Instead, I just think of the book and movie as totally separate. Everything's easier to enjoy that way.

44. Oh jesus. Calm the hell down. As someone who read the book many years ago, then when the movie came out and AGAIN in more recent months, I still love and adore the movie. It's very different from the book, to be sure, but it's a Miyazaki creation. He gave it his own flair. In many ways I view the two as separate works with simply the same fundamentals and as such I love them both.

Chill. (And also fail. Howl/Sophie only implied? I can only assume you're referring ONLY to this context or you've never read Castle In The Sky. If you haven't, you should; I actually like it more than Howl's Moving Castle. And besides, the scene at the end with them holding hands and smiling at each other while they tune the world out? that was pretty clear. ): and cute. or so I thought.)

15. I AGREE SO MUCH. It's not romantic or deep (I do think it's a bit epic though), and that's why I love it. I love seeing the Doctor running around and trying to save the world with a kettle and some string, and sometimes wearing a vegetable. It's charming and fun, and watching it makes me feel like a part of something really big and fantastic.

LOL, tl;dr: I love Doctor Who because it's awesome and fun, not because it's amazing and deep.
