44- Wow, Sophie/Howl is only implied in the book? I must have misread them getting married and having a child in the sequel. Oh and the proposal that they will live happily ever after (as hair raising and exploitative as it may be according to them) at the end of the first one. Hm.

I love both the book and the movie and I get tired of seeing the movie bashed. It's fine to like one more than the other, but seriously.

I was talking about HMC, not Castle in the Air. Howl/Sophie was only implied in the final chapter of HMC and that's what I was talking about. As they'd been living together as what could be described as friends or mere companionship for quite some time before the 'happily ever after' thing, it can easily be interpreted as the same sort of deal. I think that she left it open after that (until CITA) for a reason, so that fans could draw their own conclusions before the next book came out.

The movie was good if you pretend that you haven't read the book, but I'm sick of running into RL people who think it's canon. That's what the secret is about.

I understand what you mean. I'm not a fan of Seishirou for obvious reasons, but I cried when he died because of how devastated Subaru was when it happened. It was such a tragic moment to see him break down like that. He loved him so much despite everything and that was what made that so painful for me. It hurts every time I read volume 16.

I don't get where all these feelings of being the only person who liked this game are coming from. Seriously. o.O There have been several secrets about it, so you're obviously not the only person. I don't claim to frequent every GS community out there, so there may be something I'm missing, but I keep seeing constant praise.

Or they actually like the story. Not everyone will like Reborn like no one will like any manga series despite its good reviews or not, especially Reborn's early volumes that really depended on one's sense of humor. Despite it's big slash following, most of the fangirls there read it because they love the characters AND the story.

Word. Whenever people bash cosplay for being a sign of "obsession" and "ridiculous", it leads me to believe they never dressed up for Halloween as Batman or some other copyrighted character. Honestly, what's so bad about it? I get a sense of family when I cosplay, like I did this weekend. I'll never understand some people :D
