But Kripke did offer Ellen a return and she wouldn't accept the contract. Gordon and Henriksen both signed on for other shows that wouldn't give them time off to guest star on SPN.

So, I don't think the bit about him surviving only because he's an old, white man is fair. *hands*

From what it sounds like, they offered her a cameo. That's not really a return and given that her character was on par with Bobby the fact that she disappeared for the ENTIRE season and it took fan outcry to even get that little bit is ridiculous.

Also, see: Bela, Jo. They didn't have to KILL OFF Gordon and Henricksen-- they could have left it open for them to come back. Yeah, no. SPN has a horrid track record.

8- I don't know who the third one is but I don't get the Cameron hate. Maya on the other hand, is one of the few female characters I honestly completely dislike. I'm not into Heroes fandom so it doesn't have anything to do with that.

34- It's "Epilogue What Epilogue" and I really dislike the term. No matter how much people hate the epilogue, it doesn't change the fact that it's just as much part of canon as the rest of the book. All the hate doesn't negate that. Your fic is AU or AR, simply put. Not "EWE." What bugs me is that EWE is allowed for "canon" prompts, challenges, etc. EWE fic is no more canon than ignoring everything after chapter twenty-eight of DH or something. If authors really want to challenge themselves, they should work around the epilogue.

42- Why use "their own words" when they've got the creators backing them? I would think that using the words of the creators of the series is pretty strong evidence. I don't know about you, but if I were debating ships with someone and someone came in with a quote from the powers that be that solidifies their viewpoints, I'd probably find more validity in it than "their own words." And it doesn't matter how stupid it sounds, it's what they said. And it's indomitable evidence for Katara and Aang.

As a tag/shorthand for a particular type of AU/AR it's fine, especially since there's probably lots of fans who would normally skip over fics labeled "AU" or "AR" but are fine with a fic that ignores the epilogue. But allowing epilogue-shunning fics into supposedly canon ficathons/prompts/etc is stupid.
