Actually, one of them will become canon. In the most recent all-Avatar Nick magazine, it said that Katara will definitely end up with either Zuko or Aang. We just don't know which one yet.

I strayed away from the Heroes fandom largely because of the Maya hate, but I think most of them think she's useless and the way she kept freaking out and making everyone die/almost die got repetitive. They could say about the same thing about Alejandro, but even though he doesn't escape the hate completely, he doesn't seem to get pounded on as much probably because he's dead and that's the way the fandom wants the twins.

Personally I loved Maya and Alejandro, but they and their abilities were utilized horribly. I don't imagine Maya's going to last long in Volume 3.

It's in the ASN interview that one of the maintainers of the site did with the creators. It's in Part 1 of a 3 part interview. The whole interview was kind of cool actually. But if you are wondering where people get that line from it's there:


RM: Okay...shipping.

RM: I have never seen shipping take on a life of its own as I have with the fans of Avatar. What do you think of all this?

BK: I think it's important to note one thing I have heard from the internet is that some fans have the idea we've put shipping into the show because they've asked for it...requested it. This is totally not the case. Mike and I like to do melodrama stuff and we wanted that in there. Not that it's all cheesy, but we wanted that from the get-go. Five years ago when we were developing this.

MDD: Yeah, Aang-Katara, that romance. Some stuff developed along the way, and we're glad some fans are more receptive to that element of the show, but it was in the DNA of the thing from the start.

23 - I actually find random penises rather comical, which is why visual porn does nothing for me.
