1 - Do you mean the immorality of Disney as a corporation? Or the fact that they insist on perpetuating stereotypes in regards to gender and ethnicity? Or do you just hate the art?

17 - "Slash" is not a single entity. Different fandoms have different characters that should react differently together. The problem is the people who insist on simplifying every relationship down to the same the same thing. (And I notice this in het as well.)

26 - This would make more sense to me if you hadn't used Naruto as one of your examples. Despite being a Japanese designed ninja he seems almost stereotypically American - blonde and LOUD and lacking in subtlety (he wears ORANGE). I guess I can see the cultural appropriation thing? But if white people don't go to conventions, there won't be as many conventions. And cosplay is a big part of that.

57 - I think a het or gen author would appreciate feedback (especially positive feedback) MORE from someone with different tastes. And how would they know how active a slasher you are anyways, unless you have a tiny fandom?

Oh yeah, it's completely natural, but I'm one of those people who think this shouldn't be discussed in such a wide manner. Yeah, the internet, the not face-to-face conversation is perfect for this subject, and I don't say they are bad.
To show it better with an example... For example, there is a TV show. Two guys talk, get along with each other, they are nice buddies. ... But when half of the fandom start to talk about it how they "bang" each other in their free time, and when some of these are around the age of 12, that really disturbs me. I have nothing against crack shipping, that's definately fun, but nowadays these things are mentioned even without the shipping. In a just because way.
Sex is great, healthy, and natural, but when people bring it to places where it's not supposed to be, I don't like that.

I'm white and I cosplay. However, I do not speak like a weeaboo or any of that crap, nor do I 'pretend' I'm Asian.

That said, I can understand why you're upset, but really? To say that non-Asians shouldn't cosplay is like saying Asians can't ever watch Disney or dress up as characters from it, because Disney is an American-born franchise.

As must as I would like to respect your opinion, I have to say that a lot of Asians fail at cosplaying too (Not everyone of course), and though I gotta admit a great number of /other races fail (I admit I'm not the greatest cosplayer, but at least I try and I don't chose far-fetched costumes), there are also a lot that really pull it off and show a great deal of talent through it.

Your post sounds VERY shallow, but I'm sure you have your reasons. And I'm sure that's why you kept it annon.

So does this mean that Japanese people aren't allowed to cosplay characters that are canonly not Japanese? Plenty of series have at least one token Westerner, or are set in a non-Japanese or fantasy setting. How about black characters?
