171. H-holy crap. Every single show you have in that secret is EVERY SINGLE SHOW that got me into anime and manga in the first place. I started off with Pokemon, then went on to Digimon, then was totally obsessed with DBZ, and to this day I am still a fan of Yuugiou.

I regret nothing, and I am far from judging you. These shows were indeed childish and a bit lame and are the fodder for many a lauging stock, but I ADORED each and everyone of them and I still do. They helped expand so many horizons for me, but I'll never throw them away from my memory. Don't be ashamed of liking something that makes you so happy, no matter how silly it is. ♥

YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE. My favourite OTP in the HP fandom is a canon character/name only (and very few people like it other than me) :|

I don't want to say anything bad about a dead person, but Richard Harris played Dumbledore like he was made of candyfloss and kittens, and all the Gryffindorks who saw the first movie before they read the books failed to notice that he was a slightly sadistic son of a bitch, and gave everyone who had noticed while reading a bloody hard time.

156. I think we love the things we really really love because they speak to something deep in us. Which is why there's so much wank, because when someone criticises your show or your book, you feel like they're criticising you--but basically I don't think that there is anything at all wrong with being influenced by fandom--you can be influenced by a book, a song, a dream, all sorts of fairly 'trivial' things but you still think out your decisions. I think it's more than a hobby if you're considering letting them cut on your bits, to be perfectly tactless.

152. I don't care what a song is "supposed" to be about--if the words remind me of what's going on in a story or fit the vid, then use them. I have a mix for one of my favourite characters that includes a song that's supposed to be about racism and passing, but she's a transsexual and she passed for years as her inner gender while she was still biomale and the words fit her, so I use it. Also, I really don't care very much about Jesus; that's not my religion. And even if it were, a song about Jesus is not the same as scripture.

117. ...WTF? It is not your business how other people spend their money. What, you expect everyone to donate a buck to 4Christina.org for every buck they spend on RP? (I know, I know, but it wasn't anybody's business that I gave $5 to Cassie for her laptop either.) NOT YOUR BUSINESS. ESPECIALLY not if your next move is to tell them what you think they should be spending their money on.

There are many reasons to pay for RP accounts. Some RPs don't allow Plus accounts, and 6 icons isn't enough for anyone. Some people hate ads. (I hate ads. To a notorious degree.) Editing comments means that you don't have to get someone else to help you redo a huge thread if you made a mistake in it. Tracking comments on an entry is convenient too.

At one time I had eleven paid RP accounts. I ran a large (200+ journals) RP on LJ that started in 2003. Back then you could only make free accounts if you had an invite code and the only way to get invite codes was to pay for a month of LJ time. I was the oldest and best-employed person in my RP at that time so I paid for several accounts so that I could make NPCs and give codes to my players so they could make more characters.

The icons? Are nice. But they're not the only reason. And no, I don't think the characters care, but some of my PBs are actors I crush on big time, like Adrian Pasdar or Jesse Spencer or Diego Luna or Ephraim Ellis, and I have hundreds of pics of them. And it's nice to have a place to put a lot of icons of the same guy if he's one of my crushes that I happen to really like making icons of.

I hated the ending. I still don't see why Mitsuki doesn't end up with Eichi.

160: ME TOO!!! I mean, there is SOME...but mostly it is rubbish! And there isn't a SOLID fanbase for it either. Which is sad! I want it to reach the heights of Sheppard/McKay from Stargate: Atlantis, where there is so much to choose from it would take months and months to get through it all. <3!!!

If I could write/draw/vid/etc I would make up an AWESOME FANBASE MYSELF.

I think same as few other people. Fandom just made you think that, kick your ass, as any other thing would. Like some news on papers, book or a song. It made you realize something, not mess your head to new ideas.

I didn't realize that people could have gender dysphoria until I read Wanda in Neil Gaiman's A Game of You. It's not something that's really discussed in popular culture in a frank, humane way. I can't say for you one way or the other, but I think it's something worth exploring if you truly feel unhappy as you are.

Then I didn't realize that born females could transition until I read a story about a couple where the guy was FtM on a Haruka / Michiru fan forum when I was a teenager.

I couldn't agree with you more. Several of my charries get labeled as a Sue at times JUST because I ship with with a canon, no matter how hard I worked on them and had more than one beta look at them. Finally theres someone else out there that thinks the same way I do.

I LOVE Indiana Jones with all my heart. It is one of my five "forever" fandoms -- those few fandoms you know you will never grow out of.

And there was a few things about Crystal Skull I enjoyed.

But Aliens? WTF. You have some very awesome Aztec/Mayan/Whatever group you chose to work with Gods you could have chosen from and the legend of El Dorado and you came up with aliens.

I don't care what people say. Aliens do not belong in the Indiana Jones Universe.
