Re. Amber's death: an "uppity" woman coming to a bad end is one of the oldest cliches ever--the writers ought to be ashamed of themselves for copping out like that.

I highly doubt the writers will be ashamed when they've written all of the female characters specifically to wind up subserviant to House. The only reason any of them have ever had power is so that he can get rid of it and make them look progressively weaker, whinier and more ridiculous.

Don't get attached to these characters. The writers are bound to get bored and give them a crippling disease or have them go on a meth trip at random.
