115: The fact that she's with Jared is why fandom even know who she is. And, yeah, a lot of people like her but I've never heard anyone claim that it was because of her acting chops. She's just a sweet girl (or, at least, she appears that way).

There's nothing wrong with enjoying Sondheim, ever! There's a huge difference between the relationships in Twilight and Passion - the latter was realized and portrayed as a 100% fucked-up relationship by the creators of the show, whereas Stephenie Meyer paints the Bella/Edward relationship as idealized, perfect love.

Juvenile writing style aside, I might actually enjoy Twilight somewhat if the author realized what an unhealthy relationship she'd put her main characters in - and roll with it. Of course, that would mean that Meyer would have to admit that Edward is not the perfect man, which'll never happen - and it still wouldn't help the pages upon pages of melodramatic descriptions of his heart-stopping, sparkly, dazzling beauty.

Yes, that's a fair assessment of the overall idea of the story, but it does have a message about gender roles in there as well. The director dislikes dealing with romance because he feels it's distracting from the story, but instead of bypassing it altogether, instead he throws m/m and f/f subtext in as the solution. Which doesn't make any sense to me, since you could easily do the same thing with m/f or have absolutely nothing at all, the latter of which seems to work the most for the challenging of gender roles and the empowerment of women, which is what the show is attempting on the surface. I felt the ending undermined that, not just for that pair, but for most of the supporting characters as well.

111. Don't be. It's straight romance, and how their relationships evolve IS the plot. I enjoy it and think it's the best BL series I've seen so far (it's already the best animated outside of maybe Kyou Kara Maou, which is prolly its equal in that department). I don't think you quite get it (and I think the movie was somewhat more clear on that), Anthy didn't need Utena to save her like a prince but someone who understood her and gave her the strength to leave the situation out of her own will. Just like Utena realized that she doesn't need to be a princess to feel complete or to prove herself to others. But I wish that the part that they cared very deeply for each other in a romantic way is a bad thing.

133. I think his atittude is not very surprising for someone who've been rejected for most of his life and trying very hard to prove his worth. I wish people didn't see Gokudera as useless because it wasn't he seriously lost his fight except the first one with Gamma. If you ever sit down and notice, he usually had to make the choice to sacrifice the win or something else. His first fight with Chikusa, it was either go for the finishing move or let Tsuna get seriously hurt by the needles. The second one, Ken interfere but he managed to get Hibari out of his prison, so that can sorta count as his first and only win in way. The fight with Belphegor, he did techincally won, but Bel cheated and it was either his promise to Tsuna or possibly die winning over the ring (and knowing his loyalty to Tsuna, who you do you think he picked in the end?). Both Gokudera and Yamamoto got their ass kicked by Gamma and had to be saved by TYL!Hibari. Fuck, what's with the Gokudera hate that someone like me who doesn't have Gokudera in their top 5 favorite Reborn characters having to defend him. Honesty also....
