DS9 goes simultaneously AU and meta by having an episode where most of the characters are science fiction writers in the 1950's. Fanfiction writers, take heart; professionals do this sort of thing too.

I want to come back as a sea otter, only I want to be one that lives in a really nice zoo or aquarium, so that I don't have to worry about starvation or predators and can just swim around doing tricks and looking cute for visitors.

When do you judge age gaps in adult relationships?
