168. For me it wasn't simply the aliens. It was the entire movie. Ford felt like he was running through his lines, the old man jokes really got under my skin, the fact that it depressed the hell out of me to see this character that defined a lot of who I am these days ended up having such a shitty life. The aliens at the end just left me with this whole, 'WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST SIT THROUGH?' feeling. I really think the fact that they showed the space craft was pathetically lame. Leave some mystery to it, please. And really, Indiana Jones was an archaeologist. He studied ancient man and now we're supposed to believe that we got everything from aliens. Lame. Spielberg just wanted to tie in Close Encounters and Lucas shouldn't ever be allowed to make another film. He's ruining everything that was once good. Nostalgia or not, the 4th film was so bad that I wish I could unsee it, and this is coming from one of the biggest Indy fans out there. So kindly STFU yourself.

I thought that Spielberg was against the OMG ALIEZ plot at first and that Lucas was the one who kept trying to make Spielberg do it... That's what I've been hearing *shrug*.

I try to like him, I honestly do, and I understand what some of his appeal to fans might be (he's cute, he's stupid, he's down-to-earth and so very human) but I just can't like him. He... annoys me so much. I think that Matt has more personality and charm than Matsuda ever had.

I always try to say things like, "He's just so incredibly handsome" or "I think she's absolutely gorgeous", and people sometimes react to me like I'm a weirdo. 168) Are you kidding? First of all, the rest of the franchise was not cheesy, just Temple of Doom. Black magic cults = GTFO. Second, how does the new movie have the same principal actors? It doesn't. The only people who are still there are Indiana and Marion, and she doesn't even show up until the middle of the movie. Sallah is nowhere to be seen, Henry Jones Senior is dead, MARCUS FUCKING BRODY is dead. The sidekicks they introduced in this movie, excluding Mutt, are totally unsuccessful in provoking emotion from the audience because we have no connection with them. Even Mutt is cheesy in his own way- OMG INDIANA'S LONG-LOST LOVECHILD PROTEGE was so transparent, but at least he actually appeals to the audience rather than relying on some unseen backstory with Indy to provide his character depth.

Third, alien skulls aren't any more far-fetched than the other artifacts from the first and third movies (again, disregarding Temple of Doom because it sucked worse than this one). They're just more cliche. Aliens are some of the most overdone plot devices in movies. Holy artifacts are original, at least. How many movies can you name of the top of your head that feature the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail? And how many can you name that feature aliens?

It's not as if there's nothing to like about this movie, because there is. The action scenes were great, especially the motorcycle chase. The carnivorous ants were great. Mutt and the way he compared and contrasted with Indy were great. Bringing Marion back was great (until they went and married her and Indy off at the end- definitely NOT following "the same basic formula"). In fact, nothing was really annoying about the movie until the last twenty minutes or so when it started getting totally out of hand. This was not, all things considered, a bad movie. It just didn't live up to the Indiana Jones legacy, which is why people are bashing it so much.

142. Yep, that Nobuyuki Fukumoto sure is pretty overrated in english-speaking countries. EVERYBODY who's anybody in anime fandom just loves to talk about it, even Anime News Network is doing a report on him, and all of his works have a section on fanfiction.net and loads of fun and exciting livejournal communties. Yep, it's just as popular as Gurren Lagann, Bleach, Naruto, Code Geass and Reborn!

Well. I was overreacting about it being overrated, I know and I'm sorry. But for the record, every opinion I've heard about these two series has been "OMG!!!1THEBESTEVÖR!1" .. and they were just too.. boring (for the lack of a better word) for me. And some people seem to think Fukumoto is some sort of a god.. you like what you like and I didn't like it. Secret 'cause some would like to rip my head off for saying that it's shitty.

I agree. I just don't see Lucci being bottom. Even a dominant bottom. If someone else comes up with a doujinshi or fanfic that has an intriguing situation, or makes it interesting, hey, I'm always up for a read. After all, every yaoi situation isn't canon anyway. I wont hate someone if they like it, I'm just saying that I don't find it going with his characterization at all.

And just because Oda writes comedy doesn't mean everything in OP is fucking GOLD. Not everyone's going to like every detail he puts out, and I don't like Kaku's giraffe power. I found it to be stupid and quite uninteresting. He was so much cooler as a bad guy when he ran on skill and technique. The swordfight with Zoro was so badass, then it got quirky and retarded.
