As a casual fan, the opinions I've seen on this movie are pretty split, ppl seem to either want it like yesterday or don't want it all. It's interesting to see.

To those who say they can see it: how? What criteria of autism does Snape display? I'm not seeing it but haven't ever considered it, either.

It's not actually 13 in Japan. All prefectures have their own age of consent, and all of them are above 13. There's also additional federal laws in Japan prohibiting fornicating with minors.

Strep throat maybe? Or the flu (which you can get even if you get the shot, btw)? Get to a doc if you're not better or are feeling worse in a day or two.

I dunno about a happier time, I like the guy and I found the extreme ends of the love to be... obnoxious to say the least, that and the extreme hatedom as well.

But then the internet can't love or hate things in moderation.

Most of them have pretty much no chance.

But my #1 OTP ever, I actually don't know. Part of me thinks it's been building up to them being together the entire show and there's nothing else that would make sense, but another part of me thinks it'd be too controversial and there's no way they'd ever go there. So I don't know. I mean, I'm still going to ship them either way, but it'd be pretty cool if it was canon because there's never been a ship I really loved that became canon (there've been a few "eh, I guess I like it well enough" ships that have, but none I've considered an OTP).

He's only 23? Jesus I actually thought he was older, like late-twenties because when he first turned up I legit thought he was Max's dad(as in he had her as a teen and somehow got custody, or stole her).

Stuart in The Big Bang Theory. The fact that he's a loser is a running joke and none of his so-called friends seem to care that he's actually depressed. It's a shame because he started out okay and even charmed Penny enough for them to go out, but I guess his self-esteem took a nosedive after she dumped him. I feel really sorry for him and don't like how he's the butt of so many jokes.

I'm not sure if I can go with his rubbish social skills because I don't think he had the benefit of childhood social interactions but there are a few things I can see why people think autism.

Teenage Snape is described as walking in a very twitchy way, I grew up with a lad who was autistic and he had this very odd way of moving his body when walking. Not proof or even good evidence at all, I know.

There's his obsession with the dark arts & Lily and his failure to recognise that this is what is going to end their friendship. Obviously, an obsession doesn't equal on the spectrum but given how poor his social skills are...

Anyway, there's stuff you can choose to interpret and I'm sure people who have given it more thought have more evidence but I kinda get it.

Oh I haaaate characters who only exist to be bullied for comedy. Especially ones that are clearly depressed.

Felt this way about Meg from Family Guy, way way back when I watched that. Not sure if it ever changed, but it just made me too frustrated.

I'm baffled people actually a) give a fuck about who other people are dating and b) actually pay that much attention.

It's funny, though, because in...Little Town on the Prairie? She confesses this to Mary, and Mary is like 'you're so right, i really was just trying to show off and be perfect and do it on purpose to make you mad'.

I loved that confession as a kid, and also that Laura instantly and vehemently and totally sincerely denied it, and refused to see Mary that way at all.

That doesn't excuse him being a shitty person. Aspies and Autistics trot out the "~but I can't understand social cuuuuues~" thingo, and treat it like it's some goddamn mystery.

They've never just... I don't know, watched other people exchange social pleasantries, or even just looked at how their (hopefully non-batshit nuts) teachers interact with students?

By that benchmark the ~Observant Spy~ Snape failed basic spot checks for understanding human behavior, which is kind of a requirement of being a good spy - being able to spot nuances in conversations, etc.

He's not 16, good gods.

I didn't think he was that old, but he *does not* come across as a teen, even a 17 or 18 year old. At all.

Which is my biggest issue with most 'teen' characters; they're played by 20-somethings, and it always shows.

You don't know what grooming means.

Can't really say that the gender-swapped American Beauty ends much better, regardless of what 80s sex comedies tell you.
