130 -- I read this book while I was in junior school. Julian was my first book crush (Angel was my first TV crush, heh) and the last book still manages to devastate me to this day. I love Smith and most of her books, but I think this trilogy is by far the best. When I heard she was revising the Vampire Diaries and writing them as they were originally intended to be (she had to change the books because they weren't originally aimed at YA), I got this little tiny spark of hope that she'd do the same for FG, even if the end result was just one little extra scene. Sigh.

I never trust a word of what anyone tells me about themselves unless I see it with my own eyes. If I find out that someone's a faker, I'd simply echo what they claim they are with a smile every single time they lie. That would, hopefully, make them aware that their cover's been blown and they'd better make the initiative to come out honestly or risk letting someone else tell the tale in the most negative manner imaginable.

If you think someone's a fake Asian, ask them which dialects they speak and continue the conversation in that particular dialect, with the help of someone else who also speaks the same one(s) if needed, once they've made their claim. Even though not all Asians can speak their own language and some non-Asians sound pretty natural speaking an Asian language, you can tell whether someone's been lying about their descent from their responses quite easily with this little test.

147. It is different, honest. Alternate!Pete is just Pete!Who!Survived. He's not half human, half timelord. The whole point of the Doctor/Rose was that the Doctor was a timelord, that it wouldn't work, that they'd never acknowledge it--that's what made it sexy and tragic and unbearably good. I don't hate Blue!Suit/Rose as much as I did when I first watched it, but it just doesn't seem right to me--like RTD was looking hard for how to give them a happy ending, even though a happen ending cheapens everything they share.
