110: I feel your pain! Man, almost as soon as I hear a song for the first time, I imagine a fannish video for it. I have so many I'd love to make, but I don't know how... ~_~

144: You know, I used to like Zutara till about the end of the second season... But I've started disliking it, especially once it became obvious that Katara liked Aang as much as he liked her And let's not forget Mai... I really like the idea of then as FRIENDS, though. The scenes of them working together in "Southern Raiders" and the Finale were really great. There needs to be more shows (and not just kids shows) with really good platonic male/female friendships.

What constitutes good writing and well-developed characters never changes, and this is why the original Star Trek remains so highly regarded, and why Enterprise is pissed on from a great height. Sex and violence has nothing to do with it - if they were done well, I'd be all for it.

And I think Roddenberry's vision was a little more sophisticated than "good triumphing over evil." I don't think there is anything so simplistic as "evil" is the Trek universe - rather, differences of belief, good intentions that went astray, etc.

I worked on a drawing on and off for three months, and it has very little views and one or two comments on it, while a fanart sketch that took me 20 minutes has 2000+ views, way more comments and favs. Its because my drawing was NOT fanart, and isn't of a digital medium (no pretty shinies), as it was a painting. :|

175. Sigh. Please watch the show before you make judgments, especially when they're so wrong. Haruhi is a subversion (and arguably a deconstruction) of the Mary Sue trope. She's good at everything, but she is terribly impatient and becomes despondent easily, so she is never content. She has a number of admirers, but it's unclear if they like her because they actually like her, or because she wants them to like her. She's the fall-back romantic interest of the main male protagonist, and it's even unclear if he genuinely likes her or just sticks around because something terrible will happen if he doesn't.

tl;dr She isn't a Mary Sue, and this would become very clear to you if you actually watched the series.

Haruhi isn't a deconstruction of the Mary Sue trope. She is barely a character with a purpose other than serving as a device to progress Kyon.
