Damn do I know that feeling. Keep trying and don't think about reviewers. Just have fun while writing. Maybe collab with someone who you can geek out with while writing? Write a story with each other, serious, sexy, funny, pretty much whatever you guys want. Even an rare fandom pairing. Something both of you would love to write when not chatting over AIM or whatever program you'd use.

That usually makes me feel a bit better about lack of replies. Just writing with a good friend an cracking jokes about what's going on in the story. Sad part is, I tend to get replies YEARS later when I've lost interest in the damn story. Ugh.

188. no, fandom doesn't owe anyone anything. but consider this.

if fandom is going to cry out for more fic that is not porn, then you would think it would be in their best interest to support those fics that are more in line of what they want.

instead, they will let the good fics sit and continue to beat their breasts and rend their hair about how there is no good fic, when it seems that it's out there, it never gets any notice and people figure...if no one's reading, why put it out there?

I have a good many gen/nonporn fic sitting on my harddrive that I will never post because honestly, why if it's not going to be read at all? I'm not asking for OMG DEEP AND MEANINGFUL CONCRIT. I would like at least a small note that someone even read it.

I've put hit counters on my fics and they even get lower hit counts so no, people are not reading them, even though, as I said above, there are a huge amount of crying out for them.

so...I don't post. and people continue to bitch they can't find it.

111. Shakespeare slash is kind of awesome (not least because you can write essays on how your pairing is so canon and pass them off as academic works. I mean, there are published articles on this stuff). Also, I'm sure someone has done this already, but: Hamlet, Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry IV, Titus Andronicus, Twelfth Night, Winter's Tale, Merchant of Venice, King Lear, Romeo & Juliet.

115. The Twilight-bashing secrets are getting old, but damn, I never noticed how much she made her main character look like her. Also, she's kind of hot.

128. I have no idea who that guy is, but I do feel your pain, having had a similar experience. I console myself with the fact that famous people probably meet so many fans who make absolute idiots of themselves that they don't remember particular ones.

134. Really? I thought hating Megatokyo was the in thing now. I'm surprised it still has rabid fans. (Also, love stories do tend to be that drawn out in the sort of manga that Megatokyo seems to be inspired by, so... yeah. Not to say that it isn't bad, it just isn't unique in its badness.)

Well for Enterprise-love, anyway. I'm not a big Malcolm/Hoshi shipper, but I have seen really beautiful stuff written for them, and they have a few awkward, adorable scenes, so I can at least see it. I totally prefer Hoshi/Travis, tho.

BUT STILL, THAT DOESN'T MATTER, BECAUSE ENTERPRISE~

(And yes, I am a fan of TOS and TNG, have seen all of both shows before Enterprise, and did enjoy Voyager for a couple seasons.)

All Batman/Joker/Heath Ledger Secrets

I'm getting so annoyed with all the Heath Ledger/Joker secrets. I'm not a massive fan of him but I do like him considering he has been in 3 of my favorite movies but I almost wish he wasn't in Batman because all the annoying jump-on-the-bandwagon fangirls that were brought into the fandom. Yes he did a fantastic job as the joker and yes I'm pissed that he's gone so there can't be another movie with the joker and yes I'm mad that I won't get a Joker/Harley Quinn love story in a future movie. Seriously girls, you're obsession with the movie/joker is only because of the commotion the media made over his death, so get over your stupid attraction to the Joker and give Mr.Ledger some respect and just appreciate his work like secret 143 said, he's done much much more than just play a role in a summer blockbuster.
